First spoonful of soup was outstanding with pronounced garlic oil. A umami bomb! The minced meat was tender and good ratio of fat to meat. A $5.50 serving came with 3 dumplings and pork balls. The dumplings were longish and were excellent with dried sole. The pork balls looked handmade, slightly on the dry side were a tad disappointing. Overall a winner here!

My first time trying what they call the โ€œsoupy bak chor meeโ€ certainly did not disappoint! Each $4 bowl comes with 2 wantons, a couple of meatballs and minced meat. The springy texture of the wanton filling coupled with the soft skin really remind me of home made dumplings. For the noodle base, pick from a variety of noodles like mee kia, kway teow, mee Pok etc etc. Each of these ingredients came together really well in the deceptively clear soup which was packed with a chock full of flavor. Overall, a simple and common dish executed to perfection.

Comforting bowl of soupy goodness!Coming from Bedok and having grown up on these minced pork noodles, I must say they are on par with the original recipe and not cutting back on ingredients and cost like the Fengshan 85 stalls now. Noodles are springy and al-dente, the broth is thick and porky with generous amounts of crispy fried pork lard and garlic. The wontons are also a great addition for a different mouth feel.

Uniquely different Bak Cho Mee, $4, add $1 for an half-boiled egg? Small bowl, feel like ordering one more bowl after eating ?

Tucked behind the roast duck stall, thereโ€™s no Q when I arrived. Ordered a small portion that comes with 2 fat dumplings & 2 handmade meatballs, $4.80 & $1 for the egg. The broth reminds me of Bedok 85 famous bak chor mee. Extremely comforting on a rainy day.

Read about this on multiple platforms thus specifically came to try. At peak lunch time the mixed rice stall and roast duck stall has a queue of 4 to 5 deep. This minced pork noodles soup has no queue. Probably overrated? Well I am already here anyway. So only 2 sizes, $4.50 and $5.50. Choice of Mee Kia, Mee Pok, Kway Teow or Yellow Noodle. Went for big Mee Kia. You can add on an egg if you want. I didn't bothered. First impression of the stall, order process, it doesn't give me a good impression of a famous stall or a highly rated one. First impression of the noodles when it arrived, gives me the same feeling. It spell a bowl of ordinary in every way. Doesn't give you the savoury umami tastiness look and couldn't be compared to the famous ones in the East. Anyhow a taste of the soup to start. Wouldn't call it bland but a fair savoury but a tat too sweet. Not of pork umami sweetness but sugar sweetness. I had to add a lot of chilli padi to spike and balance the taste. The minced pork bits doesn't give out a nice fresh pork umami. I suspect the minced pork comes from frozen pork. The fried shallots also too little and too light to make a difference. And yup. Totally zero lard bits or taste of lard. $5.50 gets you 3 meatballs, 3 dumplings. Again fairly ordinary meatballs and dumplings. You do get a lot of Mee Kia though. So on the overall a 2 stars in my books. Don't believe everything you read - I wouldn't come back. Hong Lim and Chinatown is so close. Better off with plenty of better choices

This place is a hidden gem considering most of the soup bak chor mee are located in the east. I ordered the large bowl($5.50), which had a quite few meatballs and wantons! The soup was heavenly and I'm certain I'll be coming back soon to have this again!

Love their minced meat noodles (plus the meatballs and wontons)! I would say the soup base is light, yet rich and flavorful. They serve 4 choices of noodle: mee kia, mee pok, mee tai bak, kway teow. You can find their stall inside the foodcourt across Shake Shack Neil Rd.
