★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Standard dropped. The steam dish is not the same as before moist tender and succulent. Also price of fish has gone up. Had a plate of rice, egg plant, steam minced meat egg and a piece of fish. $10.50

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favourite teochew porridge around, succulent steam fish drenched in a lightly flavoured soup based that is not overpowering the sweetness of the fish. Unassuming affordable comfort food that is best taken on a rainy Saturday morning!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Soon Kee porridge is located along thomson road and they are famous for their steam fish in teochew style. The fish they served is fresh and tasty. They are also famous for their braised pork belly. Unfortunately, the vegetables they cook are too oily including their fried eggs. Car park is small and limited hence it's a challenge to eat there if u drive. Not convenient for handicapped as it is a very old coffee shop, it doesn't come equipped with handicapped parking lot nor path.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A staple for big bosses and towkays, the cars here are always the high class and yet elegant cars. Food is on the homely side of the house, feels old school with a nostalgic touch. The food items goes well with porridge, such as braised pork, otah, steam fishes with vegetables.

They usually close around 1-2pm

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's decent teochew fare. Portions were not big so I would consider it to be fairly pricey for the amount paid. Quality was so-so.. good thing is extra bowl of porridge cost only 40c. Free but limited parking on site, but visitors clear quite fast. Btw they changed name to Soon Soon?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ever ate at the father's shop originally at Jalan Leban. Don't know why their standard drop so much now...taste cannot lie.. The Lor gravy for the porridge has lost its tasty "charred" taste different from last time. & Lor ba meat tough to eat.. The chili lala has lost its umph.. Disappointing ?
