★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the oldest temples in Singapore, depicting Indian culture of Goddess Mariamman with different apparitions to defeat evil.
Frequented by many Hindus on auspicious days to fulfill many vows
which were granted with true faith and believe. Weddings are also held in the temple premises with strictly vegetarian meals offered to invitees.
Fire-walking ceremonies are held in this temple once a year during the first quarter of the year in the evenings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting experience. One can see the temple in operation during ceremonies and observe the congregation. Don't expect any explanation targeted to turista, however, and do you own reading before attending. Even the basic behavioral rules (with the exception of the not-wearing-shoes one) are not stated anywhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just passed by this temple while walking in Chinatown, but unfortunately did not try to enter. However, I was able to take a peek because the gate was open and it seemed interesting inside.
You are supposed to cover up and remove your footwear before entering whether you’re a visitor or a worshipper.
I am flattered to see this temple with such distinctive design, and will surely visit another time to see it for myself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place....I felt very good and peaceful.. the puja was done with a peace of mind too . I also took one of my Caucasian and Mexican friend there and they also like the ambience..luckily the timings we went was also ideal.
