Excellent place to experience Peranakan culture and local food. Very patient and informative beading season conducted by Angeline Kong who is also a Nyonya where she shares her family stories and photos. Excellent food and knowledge sharing. Love the sarong kebaya wearing experience. They took great photos and share it almost immediately via whatsapp. It was truly an enjoyable session where I learnt a new skill and made many new friends!

Went for an embroidery workshop organised by Straits Enclave and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Would definitely sign up for another crafts workshop at Straits Enclave!! If you're someone who loves the Peranakan culture, do come by or take opportunities of workshops held there to visit the place. It's truly fascinating to see a traditional Peranakan house kept in such pristine condition - it felt so surreal yet homey at the same time. Thank you, Clarence, for organising such wonderful workshops and keeping the Peranakan culture alive :)

Awesome place to be at. you get to learn alot of peranakan culture from chia! They do workshops like beading too. The nonya costume is also available at a very affordable price. Not forgetting, the entry fee is really affordable too. If you wants to do prewedding shoot or casual shoot with your loved ones in cheongsam or their nonya costume, this place is perfect!. THANK YOU CHIA FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY!

A fun and memorable time in Straits Enclave knowing the Peranakan culture and heritage, tasting the noya kuehs, trying out the Peranakan traditional wear and learning how to sketch and paint the Peranakan heritage house masterpiece within hours. The cozy place is richly filled with the Peranakan collectibles, old pictures, and antiques as well - a totally visit-worthy and instagrammable place.

Saw this place from a friend's picture and instantly I knew I wanted to go there for my PWS! We were greeted with warm hospitality since our first recce visit by the owner, Clarence. He did not ask for a deposit nor any reservation fees when we asked to book his place for our shoot. Clarence was very accomodating to our needs, given that our PWS took place during the rainy season these few weeks. He was flexible in the timing for us to come over in view of the unpredictable weather conditions and we had to replan some of our itinerary last minute. He was ready to welcome us when we reached, and while we were there and touching up on our makeup etc, he voluntarily helped us to prepare tea and setup the utensils and kueh (which we brought over). He also initiated to share with my PG on some of the nice spots for photography. During the shoot, he too, helped us to snap some pictures and send it to us thereafter. We were more than thankful and grateful to have met Clarence and have his place for our PWS, which we both loved it alot! It was definitely one of the highlight venue for the day which our PG was also very impressed with the overall ambience. After the shoot, we received many enquiries on this place too:)) We were more than satisfied that we made the right choice for picking this place.

I attended a workshop today, hosted by @straits_enclave, taught by artist @katgeo.art. For 45 mins, we sat thru an informative presentation about the Peranakans, their unique architecture, and then visited the nearby Peranakan houses to take photographs of the buildings. Back in the studio, we were guided to sketch, ink & paint, while enjoying traditional Peranakan desserts, and even had the chance to try on the sarong kebaya costumes. I finished my painting within 3 hours. A truly enjoyable afternoon spent with sister & nieces. Highly recommend! The Straits Enclave is a private museum, filled with beautiful artifacts, items of clothing, furniture, antique household items of Peranakan origin. An inspiring event space that can seat 20.
