Nice food, slow service due to not enough staff, friendly crew, might forget order so need to remind them. Condiment, they serve you, mixed your own in push cart. Best to come when got discount. Great deal. The soup here is the best, so much flavours. Yum yum. Ox tougue is awesome. Dory, and shabu meat good. Maybe their scallop could be better.

The food quality is good, not the best, but above average. The US beef, iberico pork, meat ball are all good. The mala soup is just okay. Not enough spicy. As after the meal we do not have any 'smell' over our body. Also, we order the butter mala and the butter is not enough in traditional standard. Service is just ok, as staff are polite but definitive need more attention. e.g. 1 at the sauce counter the garlic was running out, while I was waiting one staff was kind enough to tell me to go back to the seat and she would bring me the garlic later. Nice. But what it ended up was she forgot. And the shop was not that busy. She was polite but not serving with heart. e.g. 2 when a guy serving the beef and I asked him for one more set of cutlery. He said yes, but then again, totally forgotten. We ordered mostly half portion and the portion was very small. Last, due to promotion, our double-soup base was charged with one price of soup only. Overall it is not bad, but since the service is just so-so, it will not be my hot list and will not have the urgency to come back later, or oftern.

Tried their new pork ribs soup base and loved it. Generous chunks of tender pork ribs in slightly thick soup. The meat was fresh and there are variety of dishes to choose from. You can also order appetizers from Chengdu Bowl. @zanthrea

Their green chilli hotpot was something special, other then the regular mala hotpot. Good spot for bigger gatherings now. You can also have individual pot also. @live2njoy

Went on CNY eve around 2.30pm for late lunch. Ordered quite a few dishes and the speed in serving is very slow. Apparently many of the staff were busy packing order for delivery. Only 2 waiters were taking care of the whole restaurant in house guests. My pork meat was served before the soup. This is the first time my dish was served before the soup when I have steamboat. A few dishes arrived after, one of the fried meat that i ordered actually came in packing box instead of proper in house plating. Then the waiting game start. After around 20 minutes, I checked with the waiter and request him to speed up the serving as my friend still have job after. Then the waiting time goes on. After I keep looking at the waiter, he finally went to the counter to print out my order list and asked me "which dishes haven't been served?". I was really disappointed and the experience totally spoilt my good mood for CNY. Hope the restaurant can arrange your staff properly if you gonna accept so many delivery order.

Went to Chinatown Point Taikoo Lane Hotpot for lunch. There was a standee shows Set Lunch at $10.90++ per person. Food were good but the service and the way they do business we find it dishonest. When we first sat down, the waitress left us with menu without a single explanation until we asked her questions. When setting the bill, so our surprise it was $68.38 for 3 of us. We then asked the cashier she seemed not happy and says that it was correct. After reading through the receipt we realised that they charged us $2 separately for the dipping sauce. Ok, fine. But what we can't accept was they charged us separately for the soup base. Still cashier insist that it was correct. Next day we walked in again to check with another waitress if the $10.90++ promo includes soup base and the answer was YES! So, we asked the why were we being charged? With no apology, they try to asked more questions. After 10min they agreed to refund us the overcharged amount for soup base. Throughout the conversation they kept asking questions but no words of apology. We really wonder how many people got "cheated" by their promotions. Very disappointed.

Newly introduced to their menu is their Mala Spicy Frog and Fish Hotpot where the soup base comes teeming with a generous amount of tender frog legs, fish slices and you know it, peppercorns and chili. Fresh and tender, both the frog leg and dory fillet were well coated and had soaked up all the essence in the hotpot, making them a delight to have! You gotta take note of the fish slices though, as they tend to break real easily if you leave it in the pot for too long. Apart from that, you can still add on the usual hotpot items such as pork belly, black fungus, mushrooms if you'd like to 'zhng' up your meal further! There was this particular item that caught my eye and since I was in an adventurous mood, I decided to give it a go. True to its name, the Dragonfruit Prawn Paste does look similar to the fruit, though it tastes nothing like it ? Scooping them up into small pieces, I delicately dropped them into the hotpot and let it boil for a bit. The resulting outcome was a pretty slimy and chewy prawn paste that had absorbed all of the mala essence. Pretty interesting!
