Thads Boutique Hostel - 259 Outram Rd

Location isn't brilliant in terms of options on your doorstep but it's very good price and Outram Park MTR station is about 5-10 minute walk in a straight line down the road. Be aware though the station is undergoing renovations for a year and the MTR shuts at 11pm currently so a longer walk home from Chinatown MTR or a cab if you're enjoying the nightlife. The dorm room was good. Privacy curtain. Reasonable length bed, at a little over 6 feet tall I didn't feel squashed but couldn't fully extend, locker space above each bed. The bathrooms were very hot with no air con and it made it uncomfortable when using the loo or shower, sweating as soon as the shower was turned off! But they were clean. If budget is your biggest concern this is clean, modern and adequate. If you'd prefer to spend a little more, or sacrifice a little comfort, you could find something more in the action in Chinatown.

I’d definitely recommend this hostel. It is very clean, safe, and in a good location. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a pretty basic continental and my WiFi came and went a little bit, but not too much of a problem. .

This is a great hostel, really modern and clean. The location is good, 5 minute walk from a metro stop that is really close to downtown, although there isn't much next to the hostel. Only complaint would be that there are only two bathrooms shared between quite a few guests so you have to wait but not a major issue.

Great experience and would come back again. My room was quiet even though it was for 8 and amenities were good - there was a hot and cold water dispenser and washing machine (on your own expense). It was also right across the street from a bus stop so never had an issue getting around. Staff was also very friendly.

This place deserves a 9/10 ?. Super budget friendly and staffs are very cooperative, especially Zali. One feels safe with no boundation to move in or out. Feels so free and cosy. Beds are super comfortable and washrooms are plenty. They have taken care of the smallest of things to make your stay comfortable. The common area in the first floor is way too relaxing with plenty of space and also holds a foot massager. Few CONS : 1. The place is far from the nearest Outram park MRT, and one has to walk for around 10 mins. 2. The upper bunk beds don't have a side rail, so there is a possibility of a remote accident. 3. The breakfast is pretty monotonous and the hours are thin (8 to 10 am) 4. Checkout hours could have been extended from 11 am to 12 pm. I would not recommend to book an en-suite room as few ladies in the dorm always create a mess out of nowhere. Overall, this place is a gem in Singapore ?? for solo travelers. The PROS definitely outweigh the CONS. I have stayed at many places in Singapore, but this places beats most of them at this price range. You can blindly go for the place, & you won't regret. ?

Nice hostel. Spacious bathroom with big, nice shower. The linens are clean. The receptionist guy who welcomed us is funny & tehy've just recently installwd that elevator with funny door. Just some advice, maybe can set the rule to take off shoes at the entrance to avoid that 'socks smell',especially when the room is full. Other than that, this place is awesome!

I don't worry about much other than sleep quality. The bed, comforter, sheets, light-blocking curtain, cool (temperature) room provided an excellent sleep. Great value for Singapore. 4 stars for 11am checkout and rather restrictive breakfast time of 8am-10am (last serving at 9:30am). Recommend.

The staff is incredibly friendly, warm and considerate. The decor is modern and chic. The beds are thick and very comfortable, the rooms are all very clean and well kept There are lockers right above your bed, but they cannot fit large bags, things like your laptop and bottles will fit quite easily though. The washrooms are extremely clean, but could get a little dark, with all black tiling and floors, just one light and no windows could feel stuffy. Very safe, you cannot enter the dormitories without a wristband, so you feel secure. As a solo female, I felt at home, there wasn’t much concern surrounding my belongings, and also, the breakfast is quite a decent spread. There was bread, 3 kinds of bread spreads, milk, coffee and tea. Location is good, there is bus stop right across. The area is also really good, I was out all alone till late in the night, and I didn’t feel any fear. They also keep your bag in a locked room, if you want to leave it there for a few hours, before checking in or after check out.
