โ โ โ โ โ The Cheongsums and designs are incredible. But, please train your sales ladies on Customer Service.
The space at the Orchard store is small, and the older sales ladies' motto seems to be Sales by Suffocation.
Let the customer breathe and browse.

โ โ โ โ โ I wont even rate a star but for the sake of the review i had to.
My company event is near and I had to get a cheongsam so I look it up online and found this shop nearby my place.
First impression, the sales person (not sure if she is the lady boss of the shop) asked me what i need and i told her i was browsing for cheongsam for my company event and i would only wear it once. She told me once or twice the price will still the same *rolleye she went ahead sat back at the counter without serving me further. I continue with my browsing and second lady was flipping through the shelves as though i am messing up their clothing. I look at her and she make excuse for her action asking if i need anything. I told her i am still browsing. She stood there staring at me like a scanner (head to toe) not as if they are trying to recommend anything.
Wait a minute here, i have yet to go into the suitable design yet let alone the price. Just because i didnโt dressed up like a super rich aristocrats no service should be rendered to me?
It is a small shop and usually i wouldn't drop comments. I would go for a tailor made if i can but event was so close and i simply donโt have the time to.
Perhaps you could improve your service to boost your sale for your shop. It is not about the SGD200 dollars really. I have seen better.

โ โ โ โ โ Bought twice from the Nex store already, first time was many years ago and the cheongsam still looks fantastic so I went there again. This time, was served by Bridget, a lovely lady who gave very good recommendations and clearly had good product knowledge. One star off because I feel the cheongsams can be priced slightly lower.

โ โ โ โ โ Took my mum to Cheongsam Shopee at Nex to find a dress for my wedding. The lady was initially pleasant and recommended us several pieces to try, but very soon the sales became super pushy and suffocating. Pictures were not allowed and when my mum mentioned she wanted to come back and ask friends along for their opinion, the lady immediately cut her off and said all that is important is her preference, and pushed us to make the purchase immediately.
My mum was trying to make a decision but it was all drowned out by the lady's loud obnoxious exclamations that the pieces looked great on her, how great the quality of their dresses were and how each piece is one of a kind and if we leave now we will never find a similar one. It got so suffocating that we decided to leave so that we could think in peace, and the lady's face immediately became black and dismissive. When we said thank you, she gave an 'mmmh' scoff without even looking.
Very terrible customer service. Cheongsams were also soso, we spotted an obvious lipstick stain on one of the dresses which the lady insisted is 'tailor's chalk' (which should be easily rubbed off). Dishonesty is a huge turnoff.
Would not recommend.

โ โ โ โ โ Chanced upon the NEX store, just as I had been looking for a cheongsam around the usual spots of Tanglin and Holland V to no avail. But when I browsed this store, I preferred their collection and the saleslady's knowledge of garments. I walked out with a very flattering modern navy cheongsam (tailored to fit), and would have bought more tops and dresses if I had a bigger shopping budget!
I just read the previous reviews and cannot concur with the negative comments as I did not experience "suffocating sales" or rudeness at all. I also found the price typical of a tailored cheongsam.

โ โ โ โ โ I referred my parents to go shop for an outfit for her daughter's wedding and was disappointed with the terrible service. My mom is of age and the saleslady was rude and shouted at my mom. She also commented rudely that a custom made dress is 500, as though my mom cannot afford it.

โ โ โ โ โ Shop owner (Bridget), also the sales person at NEX, is really knowledgeable about materials and cuts. If you're in a rush and need a quality cheongsum, this place is for you.
However, her customer management style is not for everyone, a tad pushy (what other customers mentioned is quite similar to my experience).
Also, if you're on a budget, this is definitely not the place to shop at. I got my cheongsum (long, with short sleeve) at $529 which I felt was alot and there's plenty of alternatives - I bought it cause I didn't want the hassle of looking for a tailor.
I didn't particularly like the tailoring experience as she had to put "pins" in the waist area to make it tighter and then she told me to remove the dress (with the pins in it) - I'm pretty sure no one in the right frame of mind would make you do that. The pins ended up poking me multiple times on my thighs and tummy area.
I did like my cheongsum though and it does seem like the "one piece" only policy is true, haven't seen the same piece anywhere since.
Shop there if you have a big budget and like acupuncture lol

โ โ โ โ โ Chanced upon the shop at NEX and was pleasantly surprised to find many pieces to my liking. After Bridget patiently encouraged me to try numerous pieces, I chose 4! She even altered one piece on the spot to my size. This will definitely be my go to Cheongsam shop going forward.
