★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great lunch hangout spot with pretty interior! I had the spicy scallop aglo for mains which I would recommend to those who love a mild spicy kick to their pasta! To end off, I also tried the basque burnt cheesecake which was delicious and creamy. Overall, great service with attentive and prompt servers. Would definitely pay another visit if I'm in the area!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time here for brunch and I quite liked the place. They offered welcome drinks. The interior is beautiful and spacious. A few dishes may take longer time to prepare, hence you have to wait. Overall, a cool hangout place in the Joo Chiat area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food portions and staff were great but food and price was quite disappointing. Not value for money. The nacho salsa was terrible. It doesn’t look and taste like salsa at all. The big breakfast bread was shocking too. One of the bread had lots of holes and it was hidden below initially. Pasta was ok but mussels were not fresh. We were shock with the price of the extra shot added to the coffee. It was $4 for one shot. Gosh. Most probably won’t be going back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ambience was nice and cozy, welcome drink was a 10/10, would recommend to try it. Fish tacos was very fresh and crispy, with a good amount of sauce. Pastas were not bad! Would recommend to try the beef one if you like tomato base and the mentaiko salmon pasta if you would like something more savoury!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Spicy Scallop Aglio was really fragrant and is not too spicy, the pan-seared Canadian scallops were really fresh and juicy, making a good combo with the bacon and linguine! Also, we had the pan-seared steak, the meat sauce was flavourful while the mashed potato and glazed vegetables added a nice touch to the dish! Highly recommend The Communal Place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cosy and nice place! I ordered the pan seared steak and it's very good! The steak is very well cooked and there is a layer of crispy crust on the outside. The mash potato is very creamy and soft! I also ordered the dessert which is the chocolate dome where I have to break it to eat what is inside. Super fun and delicious! Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The mushroom soup is one of the best i’ve ever had, must try. The portion is huge too, good for sharing. The chicken too was amazing, very flavourful. However the truffle fries and pasta was not as good as I expected it to be.
Overall a good experience! Worth a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me and 3 others had lunch here in a Sunday afternoon and it was quite packed. It was nice of them to serve us a small complimentary welcome drink. My favourite dish was the miso pancake which had a good portion size and flavour. The other dishes were decent and enjoyable.
