Uneven stair. Be careful when climbing. Climb up to another temple and make your prayer.

Climbed a flight of stairs to get to the temple on Kusu Island. Last pit stop before taking the ferry back to the Singapore main island. Quite interesting to see and understand the fusion of green and yellow here. Quite cultural, educational and symbolic. After we descended the steps and walked towards the shore, a tree branch broke and fell onto our arm. It was really creepy.

I just climbed the hill with my son. There were some people praying. I got goosebumps as I felt so eerie. I wasn't scared easily but I got hell of a goosebumps. My son was quite young. We didn't stay there too long. I may not go back there coz I don't know what the connection is with me with that eerie place. ?

My first time climbing up to the Keramat of Kusu Island, of three Maqam (place of burial) of Dato’ Syed Abdul Rahman with his mother, Nenek Ghalib and His Daughter Fatimah. As there are a lot of people of other faiths comes and visit, we could see joss sticks and other materials belonging of other faith are available. Places for burning effigies and joss sticks and candle holders are also available. The two Muslim caretakers are the one who manages the site daily. As the colour yellow is associated with Keramat, the candles provided are also yellow in colour, contrary to the red colour that symbolises luck and goodness in Chinese Culture. As a Muslim, worshipping graves or souls are strictly not allowed. We may ask Allah by the intercession of the pious people to grant us good in life. May Allah bless these pious souls and be granted the highest rank of Paradise, Al-Firdaus and may Allah guide us all. Amin (means: O Allah accept our prayer) Another interesting fact: both Maqam Habib Nuh (Palmer Road) and this Keramat acts like the Qutub (Pole/Guardian) of Singapore as ships will pass by this area.

To reach it, will need to walk up hundred plus stairs. This can be tiring for some, worthwhile. It will be interesting to see so many 4D lottery numbers written on the rocks. The place is quite compact. I find the caretakers are quite friendly and helpful. When you make a donation, they will shout out blessings for you.
