? So glad that TLE helps our little ones with IQ: Intelligence Quotient - One’s reasoning ability, ability to grasp concepts and connect the dots in a complex environment. - EQ: Emotional Quotient - Self-awareness and the ability to take control of one’s emotions as well as relate to others. - RQ: Resilience Quotient - Also known as Growth Mindset, it is the ability to cope with stress and whatever life throws at you. - EFQ: Executive Function Quotient - A group of important skills that allows one to make decisions, set goals and get things done.

My son has shown improvement in showing flexibility in terms of sharing and choice making. He is willing to share his favourite toy when being asked nicely. This is unlike the past where he keeps all his toys to himself. He has also grew to accept other colours instead of only green.

My husband and I attended the talk before signing up for the programme. We expected more of it given the rave reviews, but we know reviews cannot capture the experiences of all. To give more of a balanced viewpoint, we thought it is best to share what we know here. We know others who like the programme. It appears to be fun for the kids, but I really doubt it adds true value to all of them. It seems that they do assign the kids some types of cognitive exercises, projects, fun games in school, etc - things that involved parents with more flexible working schedules or stay home parents can do. It is not rocket science. The concept is good - training your kid's executive quotient and setting him/her out for success in school - and that appeals to parents certainly. This is TLE's selling point and they do a very good job of selling the programme. I must say your experience would depend largely on the teacher of the class your kid is assigned to. When we spoke to the teacher assigned to my kid's class after about 8 weeks, we knew she wasn't going to add real value to him as she didn't appear to understand the kid well at all. I thought she was a little inexperienced. The teacher who worked with my 4 year old was very quick after around 4 months (16-17 sessions, with a month's holiday or longer in between) to say she cannot work with him and he cannot benefit from her lessons as he has different needs. She suggested he had special needs/could be on the spectrum, to our shock and disbelief, when we never saw anything in him other than he was a little challenging. She suggested for us to withdraw him immediately and we tried doing so. TLE did not want to refund us the sum (from the package) and tried persuading us to stay on to join another class - which is very unprofessional, unethical and self-interested (it is a business for them after all). How can he benefit from a class taught by a different teacher if this is how one teacher from the school has 'diagnosed/assessed' him? I also got the sense that since I was so bent on a refund instead of staying on, they tried directing me to consult Leapfrogs, TLE's affiliated business, which I refused. After a few reminders that I was entitled to the refund, TLE reluctantly refunded the sum from the unused lessons to me, rightly so. Since then, we brought our kid to experienced paeds, spoke to his teachers etc and all said he was certainly in the range of what's normal for boys this age and he may need help with attention and discipline, which is typical. All doctors have said you do not diagnose kids at this age with attention disorders as most do grow out of it before primary school. They certainly do not see anything serious like him being on the spectrum etc. What really upset me was the inconsistent response of the school and the teacher and how things were communicated to us. Also, the teacher never once reached out to us other than when we were asked to withdraw (and later a different message from the school) to understand why he was challenging. If she had, we would have shared with her that he was down with allergies, on medication in half the time he attended the weekly sessions with her and was not at his best. SInce then, he has recovered from of these issues and some of her concerns are no longer valid. His attention has also improved with our support. She was too quick to jump to a conclusion. I feel silly to have entertained her concerns and worried unnecessarily. My advice is: Try out the programme for a short while to see if it benefits your family, personally, it won't have benefited our kid even if the teacher did not have that conversation with us. We regretted signing up for the whole package and thought it was more fluff than substance. I am posting under an identity I use for reviews as I do not want myself or my kid to be personally identified. I have taken care not to identify the people I have interacted with and expect TLE to exercise the same respect. My intention is to present a balanced view of the programme.
