Time For Thai @ Simpang Bedok - 282 Bedok Rd

This is one of the halal restaurant in that open on this Chinese New Year. We having some dishes for sharing within 8 persons of our family cost around SGD$80 something. Is not very expensive and it taste not so bad as well. I love their hot lemongrass water, papaya salad and the salted white prawns got crispy fried egg inside is taste so good to me. We all really enjoy our lunch here on this 1st day of CNY! ?

ZERO star! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Saw raving reviews, tried and it's the WORST dinner! (1) mango salad : can only taste Thai fish sauce, salty and can't even taste the natural sour mango! (2) Tom yum soup: normal edible MSG taste soup (3) Green curry chicken : too oily, basil leaf smell too overpowering, veg cut into tiny cubes.... (4) pad thai: taste of smelly spoilt expired peanut oil, chilli flakes that were out of taste, soggy texture... spoilt peanut oil can cause bad stomach.. FYI, this is their signature dish!!!! (5) pineapple fried rice: edible if u like strong curry/ turmeric powder taste (6) basil minced chicken: edible but was way too spicy for 4 out of 5 adults whom ate it (all of us can take chilli padi) (7) prawn tang hoon : most ex dish, $30 for 4 prawns which are not fresh (mushy texture) and tang hoon which are stir in soy sauce.. no wok hei, no Claypot taste,. Part of the tanghoon are uncooked and still transparent... (8) mango sticky rice: only mango is nice, coconut milk taste like canned type, no aroma, sticky rice is not soft, some hard bits (like Claypot burnt rice texture) (9) tapioca : tasteless texture is thick, not like those u will expect.... Price is normal, not ex. Portion is small (normal for Thai food). Taste is VERY BAD!!!! We threw most of the food away!

Whoever cooked my order has no clue what pad see ew should taste or smell like. I was so hungry and now I feel like crying because after one mouthful, I can't eat anymore. The beef is overwhelmingly gamey and the whole box of noodles smells of nothing but raw egg which hit me the moment I opened the lid. The noodles are too sweet and too salty without any other flavour. This is not Thai food. This is a massacre. I was fooled because I previously ordered dessert from this place, and it was good. Really fooled me ????

2 stars for the food shown in pic, only the garlic beef was good out of the 4 dishes. 5 stars for the drinks, especially the hot Thai milk tea!!! Other drinks we ordered were ice Thai milk tea and nom yen.

Ordered beef noodle, green curry rice and mango salad.Drink was thai tea. All was disappointing. Especially the beef noodle where the beef itself was barely edible, and the taste was meh. Thai tea was so sweet it overpowered any other taste. Salad was too sour.

Had an early lunch here. Place was not crowded. Ordered Ice Red Tea with Gula Melaka (Nice and not overly sweet) and Beef Noodle (was simply delicious. Not overly spicy but you can add their side condiment to your own taste). Both were really nice and tasty. Will definitely come here again to try out their other dishes.

Have been here for a late lunch with my wife. We ordered spicy sambal kangkong, garlic beef, beef tendon noddle soup, and iced lemongrass drink. Though these items are quite spicy, you can ask the counter to lower it. And it wasn't crowded during my visit. Given the generous portion and sizes, prices are reasonable. We enjoyed it and recommend it if you want to taste various Thai Tom Yum items.
