Was in the area. Decided to give it a try as Chicken rice is one of my favourite foods. Ordered 1/4 steamed chicken (upper thigh and drumstick), 1 piece of chicken liver and 1 bowl of rice. Total $12 which is the average price for this serving. Rice is smooth and tasty Chicken and liver nothing special. Chilli slightly too salty and lacks punch. Does not provide ginger which I consider necessary. Overall 3.5 / 5 I would not come again though. Many better chicken rice restaurants around.

Definitely a must-try food destination! Chicken-centric dishes expertly prepared at definitely reasonable price. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Stumbled upon this shop after workout class. Fragrant, so smooth and tasty chicken rice. Quick service and affordable. The fragrant of the chicken rice lingers in the mouth even after meal, in a good way. A filling post-workout meal.

Not sure why it's so raved because both the roast chicken and the rice were rather dry.. the oyster vegetable portion was quite generous though. Also the Chinese lady was really rude to all the customers who ordered, but the old man was nice. Probably won't come back again. The Chinese lady definitely killed some business there.

It’s worse than tian tian but similar. The rice taste better than Ah tai but doesn’t best tian tian. It’s flavorful but too mushy. The chicken quality is not the best, same for the taste. But for s$3 you can get the smallest one to try. Id go to tian tian if you don’t have enough time to try solid hainan chicken. Despite this one being bib gourmands. It doesn’t beat tian tian, though I’d rate this as second best

Brought an overseas friend to have chicken rice this evening at 7pm. Lady working at the counter asked in mandarin whether I’m having here or take away. I replied, having here. Next she asked roasted or white. Behind her, I don’t see any white chickens being hanged/hooked. Only saw the roasted. So I asked, “is there white chicken?” She replied back rudely, “You want white or roasted chicken?” I then asked her again the same question, she did a typical sound with her tongue and tsk, and said,”You want white or roast chicken?” Then I said, “ I don’t see any white chickens and that’s why I’m asking if you have white chicken?” She replied,”If there is no white chicken, I won’t be asking you white or roasted chicken.” I feel that she could have just told me yes, white chicken is still available. Why did she have to be so rude and speak to me in that manner and question me like that? That’s very rude. After paying, she told me to take the soup by myself which I’m fine with that, it’s free flow. Soup was not even hot. The chicken was so-so. I used to eat from this stall long ago and felt it was decent but, sorry to say, I will never eat again. The taste was horrible. Tasted blend, rice was soaked with so much sesame oil and Chili, didn’t have much taste. What I felt bad was, I introduced this stall to my overseas friend that has never eaten Hainanese chicken rice. Turns out, I regret bringing my friend. You are in a F&B industry, service is really important. I am very turned off by your worker (lady in spectacles) as she was very rude. I could have just walked away but decided to buy it to give support to your stall but, it was a terrible mistake. Please do some reflections for your service and your food. All the best.

I went today and ordered a set meal. For $7.90, I got a plate of steamed chicken rice, broccoli dish and soft drink. Both the chicken and the rice weren't as terrible as described by many reviewers. My chicken meat pieces were definitely boneless. However, I do think the chicken rice is a little overrated given its past publicity and hype.

It's truly a gem in Singapore, especially in Chinatown whereby you still can have a plate of chicken rice for $3+! The rice and chicken tasted great and the soup that comes with it is herbal, not the run of the mill salty soup! Highly recommended!
