Very tasty and their roast ducks are full of flavour.

Seeked out this place as it was featured in a news article. As read, canto style duck meat was soft and flavourful...char siew had a good blend of lean and fatty meat...it was easily spooned into one's mouth piece after piece. In fact, when I was buying the roast meat...stall was packing away a mass order of easily over 50 takeaway packets...

Written and touted as great by some food critic and influencer, came to try. While also prepared by Hong Kong couple. Nothing close to the real deal at Fatty Ox in the same Food Centre. Whether a roast stall is great, the Char Siew is the best tell. In this case barely passable. Cut of meat os too lean. More coloured then flavourful marinate or char. Noodles is the thin Hong Kong style but can be more springy. Minced pork wanton is mediocre. Thus wouldn't be coming back to try the duck. 3 stars for passable eat at value, $3 for a plate of light noodles typically better than your average food court. But at Smiths Street Chinatown? Plenty of other hot items to try. So yea, not all food bloggers know their thing so don't believe all you read.

Looks Good on Display, But when you dig into the food. Nothing but frustration and disappointment. How do I even begin. Pricing. Asked for pork ribs and duck noodles. 7.50 SGD I feel like she forced a bigger portion without asking me and just charged me 7.50 Didn't even bother to give me any soup. The duck and pork ribs for some reason were chopped into huge square pieces. Now this would be acceptable if your meats are soft enough. But sadly, the the duck was quite dry and difficult to chew. Both the duck and pork ribs were extremely chewy and sinewy. Making the meal very unpleasant. Had to chew and chew and bite through many parts of chopped bones. I just gave up in the end. Taste. The duck was ok, nothing to shout about and had a little bit, just a little bit of unpleasant duck smell. The pork ribs were overly sweet. Akin to eating something candied. Noodles were average. As mentioned in the review before me. The food bloggers that ate there earlier probably had bad taste. Would not recommend and would not return. You can find much better roasts in coffee shops around Singapore. I seldom have an unpleasant lunch as I'm not picky. But this was" an unpleasant lunch.
