★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge club, the oldest Toastmasters in Singapore, in the grandest venue. The largest meeting (typically about 40-60), the greatest number of speakers (up to 8 instead of the usual 3-5). Most months meets the first three Monday evenings but December and Easter dates may change so always check first. Arrive early to have time to pay 20 dollars as a visitor, find a seat near the front, and claim a plate of food from the buffet. Remember to take a business card if you are networking. Phone in advance to check they are meeting and let them have enough chairs and catering. Dress smart -it is a five star hotel and other special events attract people dressed smartly for black tie events of the year such as, school graduates in sequins, car launches. Club officials wear fancy shirts and cocktail dresses. Meeting upstairs, or take the lift.
