If i could i would give it 3.5 stars. General feel is the place is a bit "tired". With time and being a pioneer, i think they stopped caring but are able to pass on the their previous success. Dare I say there is a little hubris here. Food is consistent and authentic albeit a little overpriced and feel has fallen a little behind their competition (either by value price point for traditional or added nuance of some innovative cuisine in this area). The service is competent but a little "old school". The ambiance is authentic with a rustic sort of charm to it. it's definitely one of kind. There are details that make it "museum" like. No coincidence the Peranakan museum is nearby (but currently closed for a revamp). Parking is relatively simple with a public car park nearby. Not sure when i would go back. won't be too soon. Maybe when i have guests in town.

This place is a revelation. Peranakan food is the most unique culinary gift of Singapore to the world. Very hard to find in North America, Europe. Stir-fried winged beans and a sweet potato leaf dish were excellent. Best preparation of betel nut chicken I've ever had-the nut itself was quite good-often it is bitter, but not here. This place was excellent , the best Peranakan food we've had in Singapore. The restaurant also has various Peranakan style clothing/shoes/jewlery on display for sale at a tnext door gift shop.

Attractive authentic Peranakan decor while you dine. Best dish to order is fish curry. Best dessert is durian pengat, not the chendol. Note that there's no pork cooked, so other dishes lack real Peranakan flavour.

Nice deco and good for photo taking. Food are good for all those I tired. Single size for each order and portion are small for the price.

A lovely experience. We did not order too many appetizers except for kueh pie tee. It comes in a plate of 10 little crunchy cups for you to fill with the fried turnips. Absolutely yummy. Love the fish belly in sweet and sour gravy. Of course we have to have the ayam buah keluak. Not disappointed at all. The pungent concentrated sauce made me ask for a second round of rice. I drenched it with the dark glossy coloured sauce. But so worth the carbo calories. Will come back again

Great food. Great ambience. The chap chye was really good, they don't cook it with 'heibi' but it still has a fresh fragrance as compared to other peranakan places where chap chye is usually a little pungent. The oyster omelette was crispy with amazingly complimentary chilly and the Ayam Satay was so good! Their satay sauce is top-notch! Ambience is great and authentic, the cherry on top is the sweet peranakan ahma that's serving you free flow jasmine rice that totally adds to the home-cooked vibe even though this be a Michelin star restaurant ✨

Great authentic peranakan food with a equally matching ambience. It does feel like you're transported to that era and the service was impeccable. It's a treat who those that appreciate the food and its underlying culture alike.
