My 4 year old boy wanted to eat "fried rice". Google showed this as the top rated place in the area, 4.8*. Well - happy to pump this to 5*. The area is packed with touristy places, so I was worried and it was refreshing to find this. Ordered "Chee Cheong Fan" and one seafood fried rice. Very satisfied and reasonable price given the location. Staff was friendly. Usually this type of food will be disgustingly oily I hate to say - but not the case at all here - you can tell it's fresh. Obviously, you do have to wait a bit for them to prepare your dish (I prefer, then i know they prepared the food on the spot indeed, and not just reheated it in more overused oil...).

Love the hand made savory chee cheong funs! Value for money shop at this newly opened place where their set meals (noodle, wanton soup and a side) costs less than $10, which is amazing given the clean and comfortable dining ambience with air-con too. Great for a quick bite

Do you agree that chee cheong fan (rice rolls) tastes best when they’re freshly made and hot? If you’re new to rice roll, it is one of the Cantonese dishes from Guangdong Province in southern China and Hong Kong. Enjoy freshly made rice rolls upon order at Wai Hai Lou. -foodgem .sg

My favourite dish from this cosy modern place in the middle of chinatown is their fresh prawn fried rice, its so fragrant and delicious at the same time! Will be back again for their delicious fried rice!

Got the pork knuckle noodles. The noodles were nice, they were chewy and the sauce clung to the noodles well. But it was too salty and the pork was mostly fats ? Otherwise, the environment was alright and service fast

Tbh i didn't have very high expectations going in because I don't really like Chinese food that isn't deep fried, but this place is actually really good. Despite being under $10, the beef noodles had a pretty much perfect texture, and the flavour was spot on too. I've had chee chong fan before and it's never been anything special, but if we only talk about Waihailou's chee chong fan, it might just be my new favourite snack sized food. I would totally walk through Chinatown to eat again, even during code orange

The fresh prawn fried rice was really tasty and delicious, will definitely order it again. The fried dumping was crispy and good. The pork knuckle was yummy and the meat was tender.

Shopback app brought my family here. Satified family. More people should come! Char siew (caremalised pork) Chang Fen (Rice rolls) - Char Siew slices are chunky and compared to the traditional minced style in hk/sg. Rice rolls are soft and thin, it can actually wrinkle. Eating while its hot can probably melt in your mouth. Noodles - springy and not soggy towards the end Braised beef - very tasty, soft with right amount of fat and tendons Pork knuckles and wanton - can be better to beat the competitors in sg Location - a little disadvataged based on walking distance from mrt and bus stops. Can use a little more promotion efforts Overall very friendly staff, very clan place, bright and comfortable. Will come back again if around the place!
