Ordered their beef stew which cost $10+. Food was on the pricier side, as the portion was rather small. Served promptly despite the lunch crowd and meal was tasty

A hidden gem in the middle of old estate with awesome east meet west tarts. We had Ondeh tart with yam paste and lemon meringue and both are ???. The Ondeh tart has a mini ηˆ†ζ΅†effect which is a pleasant surprise cos i can imagine how difficult it is to make it so. And the grated coconut that cover each ondeh is fresh and crunchy! But it’s the yam paste filling the base of the tart that blew us away. It’s naturally yammy! And the lemon meringue is classically lemony balanced. If there is one thing to improve, the coffee beans. But that say, we want more of the tarts!!!

It was a hidden gem that we discovered as we explored around Chinatown for a quiet and cosy place to chill! We went on a Saturday and there were little patrons. Highly recommend the honey lavender cheesecake as it was refreshing and not too overly-sweet! As for the beverages, they were fine. The hazelnut latte which I ordered was slightly sweet to my liking. Just a note that the cafe is no longer on Burple Beyond (though we saw the sticker still being pasted on it). Another thing was that the cafe closes at 5.30pm. Do drop by earlier if you would like to chill at the cafe longer! :)

Now (April) Five stars Nasi lemak is great, do get the set, comes with some ondeh ondeh and drink. I upgraded the coffee to ice lemon tea. The tea was decent and unsweetened, to my liking. I did not try the curry puff again, but I must say it has increased in size. One month ago (March) This review is my first one-star review. However, I can justify this poor rating. I visited the cafe on a weekday morning, at about 0900. I saw that Whiskit Bakery and Cafe serves breakfast, and I decided to try their kopi-o kosong and curry puff. There were two counter staff present, one male and one female. They took a long time to prepare my order. Initially, the male explained how to use the blender to the female staff. The nearly 2-minute discussion was not appropriate and was not part of the order. They should talk about it after serving the morning rush-hour crowd. Next, they realised they were out of coffee. Therefore, they proceeded to brew the coffee beans from scratch. Fresh coffee seems great, right? I was so wrong. The staff added so much hot water to the coffee brew that essentially, I paid $1.60 for hot water. The $2 Whiskit curry puff was less than half the size of Old Chang Kee's. It had a thick crust and was served relatively warm. Unfortunately, it did not look anything like the photo on the menu. The chicken and egg bits were minuscule. The filling was insufficient and made the curry puff price unreasonable because of the air pockets within the puff. I wanted to try the brownies, but the staff could not articulate the difference between Speculoos, Valrhona, and Original. She merely repeated that they were all different chocolate brownies. After Googling, I realised that the Speculoos had spiced gingerbread shortcrust cookies. However, I could not see the crushed cookies in the brownie. The cafe accepts different modes of payment. I used Grab Pay. They said they could not check if the transaction went through on their end. This lapse seems risky for the company if staff do not have the means to identify correct transactions. In conclusion, my first impression of Whiskit Bakery and Cafe was disappointing. Their lacklustre service dampened my mood for the day.

Update: The WORST packaging for the tarts I got. They get stuck to the plate which cannot be individually taken out. Even when I try to take them out, it's like glue stick to the bottom of the tart. I've been scrapping. See the pictures for yourself. Used to order from them when they were at Hong Lim and tarts were great, delivery on time and everything was great. When they relocated to their new location I immediately threw in order, only to have late delivery to my friend's order (late twice for the same order, as they commit a later timing and was late again to deliver at said timing). My delivery was totally missing in action and nobody noticed until I asked and they mentioned it was delivered to wrong unit because they could mistook a "2" for "7". Like.. how is it possible? So it's for a bday celebration and I got to buy a cake at the last minute. They offer to deliver on Monday because they're closed on Sunday. Fine. Come Monday, they say the delivery will reach by 1pm. At 1pm I received a msg saying driver is late will arrive at 2pm. Ok. When the driver came, I only got 2/3 of my stuff.. I had to again inform them because they don't check to make sure orders are sent complete. No service recovery, just "sorry I think my staff forgot to pack." I think enough is enough. For the moment I will not recommend anyone to get from them until they do something about their quality of service, delivery and food. Maybe it's the bad experience, but everyone at home agreed the food wasn't up to the same standard as what we have bought before. It's a waste that the standard have dropped so low.

Crisp and buttery tart shell. Textures and flavours of the fillings were pleasant.

Love the crust more than the fillings. Lemon meringue was the best among the 4 we bought. Salted Caramel good.

Nice cosy cafe for the weekends which serves up amazing tarts! It's quiet and perfect place for a catch up on the weekends. Coffee is decent and affordable too. If you're around the area, would highly dropping by and give them a try.
