Dr Yap has been a long time family doctor and thus, it pains me to have to write a negative review. Nevertheless, the truth must prevail and my honest opinion must be shared. I visited the clinic at 6.45pm when it is to be operational for night shift at 7pm. Despite arriving early, I was slapped with the queue number of 9, with no consideration being given to the severity of my illness. Worse still, the doctor (Dr Yap was not available, so it was a replacement doctor on the shift. Poor choice if I may) had no sense of tardiness, and only started seeing patients at 7.15pm. By the time it was my turn to enter the examination room, more than an hour had passed. Mind you, they close at 8.45pm, so I have no idea if those unfortunate patients behind me got a proper medical diagnosis. I surely did not get one. I explained to the doctor of my symptoms including the unusual colouring of my phlegm, but he effectively told me it was not important and he did not want to hear it. I was taken aback for I know that it is crucial for a full diagnosis, especially less common diseases. After doing no analysis beyond hearing my chest, the doctor diagnosed me with a cold. I probed him and asked if I had a flu, for it is unusual that I have trembling muscular pains and high fever during colds, but instead I was shot with a dose of “medical knowledge” about the difference between colds and flus. The doctor did not bother to contemplate if I had a flu, and offered no medication to cure my sickness. After I got home (Being exposed to more than an hour of diseases in the clinic, where the air was thick and hard to breathe, but ideal for growth of bacteria and viruses), my fever continued to rise exponentially. I eventually had to be rushed to the hospital with a raging fever where I was properly diagnosed with influenza, and provided with anti-viral drugs (Fortunately, it was within the 48 hour effective period, and the mediation worked). I am unsure how many other patients have became critically ill, that have gone unreported, and are not as fortunate as myself (Ie passed away), but I do not want to put my life, health, family, loved ones, children, career, future in the hands of a doctor without any experience. Oh did I mention, no discount or refund for incorrect diagnosis. Not worth it la!

Strongly recommend Dr Yap to anyone as a family physician. He is patient & experience and never fails to allay my worries. The queue most times are long but he has an efficient team of nurses that cut the waiting time for prescriptions. But most importantly, his consultation charges are reasonable.

Doctor Yap is friendly and professional. Although the clinic is busy, he listens to you patiently before making a diagnosis. His charges are very reasonable and the clinic is conveniently located near Farrer Road MRT. Although the waiting time tend to be quite long (upwards of 1 hour), you can take a queue number and have a quick meal at Empress Market while waiting. The clinic staff are fast and efficent.

May 2019. Nice, friendly family doc who was not in until 4 Jun. Nurses were well trained and efficient.

Our all time favourite doctor. Doctor Yap has been to attending to us for more than 20 years in this neigbourhood. I hope he continues to serve us in this community. He charges too low (very serious) which explains the long long wait. But his diagnosis is very accurate and he more than just a GP. Thank You Dr. Yap!

Unprofessional, inefficient and poor staffs. I came at 10am to take my queue number and informed them I wanted to do PET. They gave me the queue number and asked me to wait. When I realized people who arrived behind me got to go before me, I asked the staff who gave me the queue number and she told me that she forgot to put my medical record card in doctor’s queue list, and she didn’t even apologize until I asked for one. I only left the clinic at 12.10pm. I waited for 2 hours just to do the PET, and my friends who did at other clinics only took 15min. Most unacceptable thing was that when I asked another staff to ask the person who made the mistake to apologize to me, she said even that she never made the mistake, I’ll still have to wait for 2 hours. This is ridiculous because they had an assistant, who was free at hand, to do the ART test for patients, I didn’t even need to see or consult the doctor in person. It was funny that she’s trying to get away with her silver tongue. When I finally went to see Doctor Yap, he’s not even aware that I need to do PET, and transferred me to the assistant which I was talking about earlier. I have nothing against Doctor Yap because he’s kind and nice, this ain’t my first time visiting this clinic. However, the attitude and the efficiency of the staffs are disappointing.

Dr Yap would be one of the best GP I’ve ever come across. He doesn’t rush. He listens. And he’s always willing to help. I am down with Covid. And really needed help to relief the symptoms of this virus.

Dr Yap is a nice and friendly doctor. Nurses are friendly and patience. All the residents here like to consult him. Some even move to far away also come back consult him . However, waiting time is too long. Especially today, the number not in order. If want to different for helper check up ,may be add on M or H infront the number. Hope next time follow q no for consultation. Any mis no, they can see him for next q. Thanks ??
