Yummy Western - 409 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10

Ordered the fried rice with chicken cutlet. $4,80 The fried rice has peas, corn, ham, carrot, bits of egg but lack flavour. Not sure if it's their off day. Chicken cutlet size is substantial but quite thin, but skin is crispy and doesn't feel jelat like some other places. Fried egg was lukewarm. Overall - 6/10

Taste was ok, got flavours although not fantastic. $3.80 for a meal was crazily cheap. Freshly Grilled Chicken Chop (with Sauce) Coleslaw Sunny Side Up Rice (with sauce) Although the taste is not worth traveling and paying transport fee for it, they try to provide cheap food for the neighbourhood to help residents and nearby office workers save money really worth a mention. Food has flavours, more like homecooked and old school style light flavourings. Will come back again when i am nearby! For the effort, they definitely scored 5 stars recommendation.

Fish cutlet of their fish and chips was surprisingly tasty even after takeaway. The dory meat wasn't too soggy and the fish/batter had sufficient taste. The coleslaw, beans, fries, and mayo (no tartar sauce) were meh. The fried bun from their photos was replaced by a triangular slice of white bread with what I believe is garlic spread.

Waiting time is slightly long. Waiting time was understandable as there was a lot of orders and foods are freshly cooked. Staffed seemed slightly stressed due to high demand of orders. Was sceptical due to some negative reviews I found. I assume they were written with no understanding for everyone. Was quite pleasantly surprise at the taste. Chicken wing was fully marinated and chicken and pork chops were very tasteful. Their chicken burgers are also really nice, beats MacDonalds mc chicken. Affordable price too. Would recommend to check it out !

The staff or owner seems don't care and told me “一下子” when I asked them if the queue was long since they are using sensor tag for the queue. So I ordered 2 packets of chicken chop fried rice. After waited for around 20 MINUTES, I realised the other customers who were behind my queue got their chicken cutlet and that's when I approached the staff to check why was my order not ready yet since those behind me have taken their food. Now then they told me this, “OH CHICKEN CUTLET FIRST, CHICKEN CHOP MUST WAIT”. so I sit back and waited for another 15 to 20 MINUTES for my food. PLEASE KINDLY LET YOUR CUSTOMER KNOWS HOW LONG THEY HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE WE HAVE OUR OWN THINGS / BUSINESS TO DO.

Don't be fooled by the appearance of 2 stalls. Too little portion and less than average taste.

Paid $6.80 for a chicken cutlet. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. However, it tasted average. The fries were not tasty. Service was friendly as they brought the food to my table.

Old-school Hainanese Western fare served in hearty large portions, and a consistently reliable tasty standard. . Their beef sirloin is large but flat, grilling quickly to a medium well doneness. Has a juicy succulent texture with a good chew, and bold meaty savoury salty flavour. . The mayonnaise lies heavy on the fresh coleslaw, crunching with bright vegetal sweet flavour. The crisp buttered toasted white bread is average, as was the soft baked beans. But I like the salty starchy flavour of the crisp chips. . . . Chicken Chop (SGD $7) @ Yummy Western. . Flat but large, the boneless chicken chop is tender and succulent juicy, and together with the thick brown gravy, has robust meaty salty savoury sweet flavour. . The potato fries are crisp and fluffy, satisfying with salty starchy sweet flavour. . The crunchy coleslaw with vegetal milky sweet flavour, warm soft baked beans in tomato sauce with vegetal earthy sweet savoury notes, and crisp buttered toasted white bread with bready sweet smoky flavour, complete this yummy dish.
