1036 Seafood By the Bay

A place which has a great coastline view of Johor. Food taste ok, except it is a bit understaffed. Must use the restaurant WiFi in order to order food via QR code. Last time, I visit, the outdoor seats were fully booked. Can come here and enjoy the view and food.

Generally ok dishes. Except we were very disappointed after enjoying the first claypot of curry fish head we ordered one more, the quality dropped tremendously. Diluted and vegetables not as well cooked. Inconsistent quality. Service is bad even thought they are understaffed the overall attitude n quality of service not up to par. Won’t return.

First of all, the view of the place is amazing! It was a coincidental find and I have no regrets! There was a Valentine’s Day set meal which is quite value for money, and we added more a la carte items for more variety. I loved the food and was a very happy diner! ? The only downside is, if you’re prone to mosquito bites, bring insect repellent! ?

Not crowded on weekdays. Can dine inside air con or out on the open space. Scenery is fantastic here and can watch the sunset after having dinner here or hop over to the japanese theme restaurant for beers or hard liquor.

The place was horrible, the quality of the food was bad. The staff attitude was poor too when it comes to answering our queries. When we asked about the crab quality, the staff asked us about the type (cooking method) of crab we choose. Does it matter what type we choose as its signboard mention about live seafood but the seafood isn't even fresh and the staff even mentioned about the salted egg crab was cooked in the afternoon and served to us at night. How could you cook your dishes beforehand and still be reasonable to the customers by telling them that. All the other dishes were cold too. Disappointing.

Seafood restaurant by the sea with indoor and outdoor seating. Great ambience and food is nice. Pricing is also pocket friendly with the promotions. Overall a great seafood experience by the seaside. Free parking just outside the yacht club.

Job post: If you were safe distancing ambassadors and recently out of job, look no further, this place really need staff! Seriously understaffed. A restaurant with 30-40 tables with only 2 servers. Drinks are piled up on the counter till customers go and collect themselves. Halfway through evening many customers are surrounding the counter enquiring about their orders. When the dishes came out it’s faster to carry them to table oneself… no wonder there’s no service charge! One of our dishes didn’t come after 1 hour, only then we were told it was out of stock. Changed to another dish but still had to keep chasing. Also, we were told there’s no more open-air seat, so we were seated along the sheltered area which was really stuffy and hot. But throughout the 2 hours of our dinner there were several empty tables outdoor! The food generally taste average, small in portion and overpriced. Unless the manpower resolved, or the management changed, it’s not worth visiting. Btw, sea view is nice, which is probably the only reason the place is popular. And if you’re going to work there, remember to ask for transport allowance, it’s not easy to get there.

Peaceful environment to chill and have dinner with friends and family. We loved the satay especially and ended up ordering double portion. (Not in photo) The Thai style squid was nice too by a tad too spicy (not in photo). I loved the salted egg pork chop. Tender meat, delicious sauce to go with the rice! One dish that we felt requiring improvement is the crab tang hoon as the soup is kinda fishy tasting.
