★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple carrot cake. To be honest, the cheap price of $2 is what attracted us to buy. The portion is good enough for a small eater or if you already had your mains, you can also order this for sharing. Not sure if they sell the white version but we had the dark one. They are quite generous with the sweet raddish. Would say is a must try (after all it's only $2) if you are in the vicinity.
The carrot cake stall shares the same stall as the popiah. The popiah's price is also very reasonable. At $1.30 a piece, this must be one of the cheapest I have seen. There are crunchy bits in the popiah which makes the texture delicious.

This stall came to prominence recently for having the cheapest chye tow kueh around.

The now-unheard of low price is meant to help the elderly in the neighbourhood to have an affordable meal.

That said, their version is pretty tasty, with crisp edges and smoky wok hei / breath of the wok, with the carrot cake cubes being moist and soft, good skill evident in pan frying.

The black has a pronounced sweet savoury eggy flavour, but I prefer the white which has more savoury eggy sweet notes.
