Superb service by Jerven at 16B Cycle! Brought my Brompton to him for some modifications. I was impressed by his knowledge and the frank advice that he gave. His shop is well-stocked and very “poisonous “. My bike is buttery smooth after the mod and gear shifting is fast and precise. I will be bringing my other Brompton to him for his advice as well. Strongly recommended if you need some modifications to your Brompton.

Went to Jerven's shop about 2months back for shifting issues of my P line. He is meticulous and takes care of the bike as if it is his own. He adjusted the gearing and changed nut in just about less than 10mins. Shifting from then on is so smooth as a butter. All of my upgrades I engaged Jerven. Trustworthy and very professional. Upgraded to 5 gear, 56t lightworks chainring, Paul brake levers and the my favorite sram gx shifter! Thanks Jerven! Cheers!

This is going to be a long review of Jerven Wong of 16B Cycle. Since getting my P-line, my buddy Tan Sze Herng and myself got ourselves discussing on the mods we were gonna go into to personalise and make our bikes as identical as possible with only differing colour themes. After shortlisting the parts, we began our hunt for a bike shop/mechanic for the major performance mods, namely the crank set, brakes and wheelset. We were looking for someone skilful yet friendly to understand if the parts we chose would work well together as well as to go into the details of the items we needed. Most importantly, we were looking for a careful mechanic that do not take shortcuts, and ensuring the bike is done up to high expectations. Having owned a Brompton since 2015, I dare say I've had my fair share of experience dealing with the various bike shops and freelance mechanics available. I will not go into which is good or bad, most are decent and all have their pros and cons. However, the experience with Jerven Wong really stood out. Before we even decided to send our precious bikes to him, we personally went down to his workshop to observe how he worked on other customers' bikes for hours. We ordered the parts we required and prepared for the upgrade. We were glad we made the right decision to engage Jerven Wong to transform our bikes. When our parts were finally ready, we sent our bikes to @jerven to work on. We took leave and spent more than a day observing him working overtime on the bike into the night. He is extremely meticulous, skilful and especially careful. He did things methodically and neatly, explaining why some steps are required while also cleaning and maintaining his work tools in tip top condition to ensure that the next bike it is used on gets the same precision. Even my extremely OCD buddy Tan Sze Herng was impressed (he is someone who really takes care of his stuff, even his tyres shine every single ride such that others will think that his bike is brand new even though he has ridden it 1000km). Jerven Wong took no shortcuts, greasing each tiny part with specific formulas, tweaking, calibrating and fine tuning installations like the BB and brakes till he is satisfied to ensure the smoothest, best performance and reliability. He even had his own special tricks and custom parts to make components perform better than others. He may charge slightly higher, but trust me, if you are someone who really is passionate about your Brompton, his skills and workmanship is worth it. I really applaud Jerven Wong for his time and effort in ensuring the best for each bike he worked on. Phase 2 completed. Awaiting our final item, the wheelset. Do be understanding that Jerven Wong is mostly working alone, so he will be busy working on bikes, attending to customers, and answering messages/phone calls too.
