This chicken rice warrants an immediate review, and a HUGE thank you to @absolutelynicholas for recommending it!! My stomach thanks you. Prior to eating here I had no particular favourite chicken rice. The ones that stood atop my list had dwindled in standards, and the ones that were challenging them were lacking in certain departments. I can't call 大牌24海南鸡饭/Blk 24 Sin Ming Hainanese Chicken Rice underrated because there are already queues for their food despite being in a small coffeeshop amidst a low densely populated area (wah lau Thomsonites never share sia!!). Chicken Rice was my favourite food growing up. It was the answer to the "If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life" question up till 4 months back. After I started chemotherapy, my tastebuds grew to have a mind of their own. I ate cleaner, healthier for the first two months and finally when I had my first chicken rice I was all excited like a child on Christmas morning! I bit into my favourite steamed white chicken, chewed and savoured the fragrance of the sauce it was lathered in... and.. my mind told me I hated the texture that filled my mouth. I hated the taste of chicken... "Eat this for the rest of my life?? God please no.". Luckily, that opinion of chicken rice slowly changed for the better and after today's experience I can safely say that it is slowly returning to its claim of "If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life.", with this meal at 24 Sin Ming helping champion its cause. Well executed chicken - both white and roast, really well cooked rice that was consistent with every morsel, chilli that had a good kick; wasn't sour that it'd disrupt the meal, and topped off with the highlight of it all... The soup. I'm guessing most of us wouldn't be critical of the soup being important, but I'm looking for a contender for my favourite, and not just a good chicken rice. For so many stalls out there fall short at one or two elements, to find one that does all of them well is rare; hence why praising their soup is warranted. It was rich, complex, almost tasting like turtle soup tbh! Not your bland 'palate cleansing' sort - I could have just that soup with rice and be really happy with it ?. ----- Follow me @goodfoodwrite on YouTube and Instagram to find some hidden gems around Singapore!

Good food and friendly owners (as opposed to some places with arguably great food but outright grumpy people. Those who fail in both categories don't last long) We prefer the white chicken here to the roast chicken. It's done the right way to achieve the "jelly" under the skin. Not many places still bother to get this with the hot-cold multistage effort needed. "Spare parts" also done just right. It's at a level where the chewy texture is neither too much jaw exercise nor outright scarily soft. As an added bonus, the soup has good chicken flavour and doesn't appear to be what some others would pass off as soup instead of the hotwater and MSG that it is. My only complaint is that the rice isn't oily enough. The gold standard for that is Whampoa Nan Xiang. I'm not looking for a healthy meal when I head for chicken rice. #HappierChoice.

Juicy chicken with clear transparent collagen between skin & flesh well preserved. Spicy chilli and rice is very flavourful, worthy of calories. Excellent service by chef’s wife Dynn who has all the condiments prepped separately. Can text in for order in advance, worthy for a detour in to sin Ming road for this chicken rice. They take delivery for dinner with one day notice. Do support them! May 27, 2021

Came here after my friend's intro, without any expectations and I left genuinely impressed. Ordered both roasted and steamed chicken rice, added meat with each plate costing $4. Very good price. The meat was tender, juicy and flavourful. If I have to pick, the steamed one is better, but the roasted one is also pretty good. The rice was also fragrant, with a good bite to each grain. The chilli, the chilli... I don't know what spice they put in there but it tastes really refreshing with a citrus note and it really elevated the dish even more. The soup, while I expected it to be just a regular "dishwater" kind of chicken rice soup, was hearty with an herbal taste. Every single component of this chicken rice was well done and I will definitely return. What a gem under a humble HDB block

Delicious chicken rice in the sin ming thomson area! Ordered both the steamed and roasted to try them out and boy, they didn’t disappoint. Chicken meat tasted fresh, springy and tender. Rice wasn’t overly greasy and every grain was flavourful. More importantly service was lovely from the young lady boss. Give it a go if you are in the vicinity!

It's decent chicken rice with very good and fast service! I recommend this place for a chicken rice fix! But there are a lot of good chicken rice in Singapore. So you have to be exceptional to get 4 stars in my book.

The rice is fragrant. Otherwise I don't find the dish to be any more outstanding than other outlets. The front staff is very polite. Located in a coffee shop which was very crowded during lunch hours.

Chance upon this chicken rice stall at the coffeeshop at blk 24 Sing Ming drive. Noticed that there was a long queue when i was walking past. Happened to be in this area and decided to give chicken rice a try. Reached the coffeeshop, first thing i noticed was the long queue. There was at least 8 person infront of me at the queue but it moved pretty fast. Noticed that most people takeaway. Ordered their roasted chicken rice as the steam ones were sold out. Chicken rice starts from SGD$3. Wanted to add the braised egg but was sold out as well. They were quite generous with the meat, rice was aromatic and quite flavourful. Opted for the breast meat, which wasnt dry. The chili sauce was tangy really compliment the meat well. Overall, enjoyed this chicken rice and would recommend.
