Very good service. Laksa is definitely worth trying!

The medium size laksa ($7) and the otah ($1.40) were not bad. The laksa had fresh though small cockles and small prawns.

The laksa broth was really good, but a little overpriced though, not much ingredients in the soup, literally eating noodles only.

My friend and I ate at this branch on 28th May 2022, 3pm. While I was fine, but my friend started having diarrhoea around 6.30pm. By 7pm, she was vomiting. When she vomited, she found half a plastic (the kind of plastic that holds straws from boxed drinks) in her vomit. She must’ve swallowed it unknowingly, while eating spoonfuls of laksa. It’s very unlikely the plastic came from elsewhere because the laksa was the only thing we both ate that day, as we were both travelling together in Singapore. By 11pm, my friend had diarrhoea at least 8-9 times and vomited 5-6 times. I had to send her to the emergency as she started having blood in her stools. The doctor at the medical centre had to put her on IV drips and monitored her till 2am to make sure she’s ok. Till today, 30th May 2022, my friend is still having diarrhoea and stomach pain, albeit a minimal one. That being said, while the laksa is good (and I enjoyed it), but little mistakes like finding plastic in your laksa or any hygiene issues is a big concern and issue for customers. Please, please be careful and work on your hygiene to avoid health issues. We would’ve come back and spoken to the owners but we had a flight back to our country the next day. Very disappointing!

Decided to give the "best" laksa taste test a go. Headed down to this mall that has both Janggut and 328, situated practically face-in-your-face at the main atrium. The 328 version is more robust, and spicier, even before mixing in the chilli paste, as one can tell from the yellow-er soup. It is also thicker, creamier, and has that stronger umami taste due to it the dried shrimps used. It is equally delish, but I prefer Janggut's simply because the refreshing herbal taste and I felt that polishing off a whole bowl of 328, may make me a tad "jelak".

long time fan of the katong and tiong bahru branches, but this one was horrible. second the other reviewers' comments about the broth being rancid - they keep it at room temperature (uncovered no less) and just heat it slightly per order, so it's served barey lukewarm and tastes/smells rotten. $8 for four tiny slices of prawn that couldn't even fill the spoon (putting them together doesn't even give you one whole prawn) is also just plain robbery. the two uniformed counter staff were also totally uninterested in attending to customers, and seemed annoyed that they had to do any work. it's no wonder the other foodstalls there were packed, but this was empty at peak lunch hour. few places truly deserve 0 stars, but this is one of them. never coming back here again, suggest you stay far away too. if the 328 business owners are reading this, the branch needs an urgent overhaul. it is a disgrace to the brand that you've built.

The standard is way off. Why I got to the counter to order.... 1 laksa. The waitress can ask 6,7,8. I say $6. U can see the disgust in her face. You can look at the picture... For something that is $6 .. It totally look like trash. As in... You go to any mince pork noodles in any housing estate... 3.50 . Looks better than their playing... This 卖相。 Is totally... Looks.. Like food from yesterday... The noodles is cut too loosely.. The meaning of NO SPOON laska.... Is lost... Most of the strands are anyhow cut, cut until not even 1cm...... Looks like the laksa is from 3 days ago.... Cook multiple times until all the noodles get broken up. Even the meaning of NO SPOON.. The utensils are wrong... They try to upgrade. Using black Bowl and Spoon... But the spoon is too big... OK with Raman... But not laksa. The originality of Laksa with porcelain spoon... When u eat. Is lost... The spoon is too big to fit into any mouth.. The gravy is not flavour... I only can taste a bit of spicy.. And with the smelly prawns... Is the poster outside with gorden Ramsey . Even real... Just really bad laksa.. Original.. brand just anyhow franchise... Would never recommend to anyone...

Location: Pretty central and easy to find Food taste: Pretty much disappointed as the standard seems to drop. The broth is not as thick and tasteful, chili is of a very average standard only. Seating: pretty cram, but easy to find seats, not those comfortable seats where you like to sit for awhile after meals, it's those standard kiosk that allow you to sit and eat, not for chilling. Pricing: I spent $11+ for the big bowl which is not exactly big, one otah and 1 drink. For a shopping mall, I guess that's about the pricing about $10+- for shopping malls or air conditioning places. Overall: Disappointed with the food and not likely to return to eat again. Don't get me wrong, the food is alright, just that we are expecting Katong Laksa to be of a high standard but it failed for my taste bud. But taste is subjective, do give it a try and be your own judge.
