363 Katong Laksa

We just had a very dissappointing meal at a hawker nearby and we still felt quite hungry. By pure chance we went to 363 Katong Laksa and what a great surprise it was. The Laksa was delicious. Very creamy and tasty. The Nasi Lemak completely change my mind about that dish. Before this experience the dish for was quite bland chicken and rice but here oh my god. It was excellent!!!!!! We read a sign stating that the place is closing down in January so hurry up to taste their food!!!!!!!

Nope i wasnt here for the laksa. Somehow i can smell the fragrant coconut smell. Should be from the rice. At12pm, the blazing sun and heat almost deter me from stepping into a non-air conditioned food place. This highly customizable ipad style of ordering nasi lemak amazed me. It is every singaporean's wish to know the prize of every single ingredient that goes onto your plate. The portion of individual food items is generous. Even the free fragrant and choppy sambal is abundantly served on top of 2 slices of juicy cucumber. The peanuts n ikan bilis cracks under your teeth like fireworks. The curry veg adds a different type of spiciness to the mix. Ngoh hiang is correctly sized and compact. Spacious n clean. Only thing is that i wish that the multiple fans could put up a better against the unforgiving heat. If you love coconut, dont hesitate =)

363Katong Laksa and Nasi Lemak opened in in a shop house in 1988. They were really busy with long queues. They expanded and went digital. We could order from their iPads, take a buzzer and wait inside. The sad part is that the spa next door could pay the higher rental and they had to shut down for a while. Recently I found 363 Katong Laksa in the Holland Village Hawker Center. Just a tiny hawker stall manned by a team of 2. Gone are the tech gadgets. The laksa was smaller in portion and the gravy much diluted. Didn’t have the oomph. The nasi lemak was lacking in the lemak taste. But the selection of add-ons was still very good with otak, ikan bilis, veggies etc. I noticed a constant strain of clients, and they were busy. I suspect they are the regulars from their old place. I also recognised the lady dishing out the food as the one who was behind the cauldron of laksa gravy in 1988. Sad change of fortune for this store, at least they are still open.

Laksa was good but please change your staff. I arrived to order and he was on the phone, he gave me a signal to wait for 10 mins. 30 seconds later two chinese women came and he hung up the phone immediately and finally served us. Guess yourself what just happened, probably had a certain bias. If that's how you treat customer you deserve 2 stars no matter how good your food tastes.

Kinda dissapointing, laksa Gravy was dilute, too much chilli, not enough coconut/ stock. Nasi lemak didnt have creamy fat rice, but the achar was nice.

They moved to Holland Village Food Village. They also sell Nasi Lemak. And they dun have 'iPad' anymore. Had the premium at $5.50 with 2 small-medium prawns. Lots of beehoon! Thick gravy. Standard service of other ingredients and condiments. Felt quite rich and thus not something you'll be eating regularly. I felt that the proportion of noodle to gravy is not appropriate. They should serve less noodle. 3 of us ordered a bowl and all of us decided not to finish their serving. All said, this thick gravy is better than the more liquid gravy generally served elsewhere

363 Katong Laksa is now located in the Holland Village hawker centre (from its previous shop front location). The laksa remains as good as ever and still affordable.
