Hands down the *best* carrot cake to me. The uncle, who started selling carrot cake since 1965, makes the pre-fried carrot cake from scratch instead of buying those made in bulk by suppliers - the tiny bits of red carrot in the cake is proof of this. No matter how long the queue Uncle is uncompromising in the way he goes about frying each plate with his very unique style that encompasses the constant swapping of two spatulas between both hands - something to keep a lookout for while queueing. May Uncle remain in good health for many more years.

Best carrot cake. Soft fragrant cake, fried individually (plate-by-plate) till perfection (outer skin got crunch)!! Be prepared to wait.

Having tried one of the two stalls selling fried carrot cake, decide the try the remaining one this stall round. This stall is located on the inner row of the hawker centre, this carrot cake is located right beside 78 fishball minced meat noodle. The stall is operated by an elderly uncle in his late seventies. He served both white and black carrot cake and prices starts from SGD$2.50 onwards. There was a long queue when I was there, waited for closed to 45mins before it was my turn to order. They sold out fast, I remember it was only around 10.30pm when the uncle informed people not to queue anymore. Ordered the SGD$3 portion white carrot cake. Portion was small and its quite spicy. Taste wise, it actually pretty good and I did enjoy it. The carrot cake itself was very fragrance. There are also crispy bits in the carrot cake. However, would prefer the carrot stall facing the row of shophouses.

Respect to this uncle who has been dishing out a crowd favourite over the decades. The carrot cake is home made. Generous with eggs and the chilli packs a punch.

Had a $4 plate of fried black carrot cake after queueing for 30mins. Small plate and spicy but it's totally different taste from my last visit. Guess he is inconsistent to deliver his famous dish... won't queue again

One of the few good places that served black carrot cake with a charred smoky taste. Texture is smooth but expect a queue. It was sold out at 10 am on sat morn.

It was a longgg longgg waiting time despite just 7 people in the queue because Uncle is a one-man show trying to do everything himself. Really kudos to him for being bent over that wok so many hours every day. Watch the video! The taste? Nostalgic. Stuff I ate as a kid. Really that old flavour that we hardly get elsewhere anymore. The serving size is the same as what we used to get too. A bit small but no complaints there. Happy that it’s that size so we could get both white and black.
