A very old school laksa. Rich in taste that is cooked by an old lady for more than 40 years. Closed on Sunday.

Tried this stall inside this hawker centre that specialize in Laksa, their stall is located on the row facing the shophouses. Right at the very end next to a drinks stall if I didn’t remember wrongly. A bowl of laksa starts from SGD$3 onward. Each bowl of laksa comes with the standard ingredient of slices fishcake, tofu puffs and cockles. Laksa gravy was very rich and flavorful. Portion was also considered generous. The gravy is quite thick. Ingredient tasted fresh, cockles were huge and fresh. I enjoyed the laksa from this stall and would strongly recommend this stall to people who enjoyed laksa.

It was ok. A decent bowl of laksa. Agree with previous reviewer, the cockles are very tiny. I also ordered a $4.50 bowl, which came with slightly more tau pok, hur kway. As I work nearby, I don't mind visiting again if I crave for laksa. However, I will not purposely make the trip here to eat the laksa. I would rather go to any Killiney Joint to eat their laksa.

After reading a review highly recommending this laksa, wifey and I “hunted down” the stall this morning. There were only two persons waiting in queue when we arrived at 9:20am. Maybe the breakfast crowd was over as I saw not much laksa beehoon left in the counter. (One diner told us that the queue in the early morning was pretty long.) Only a lady in her sixties was operating the stall. Apparently she had been selling the same traditional laksa for some 40 years. I ordered the “big” portion @$4.50 per bowl and asked the stall holder what would be included if I requested for the “additional ingredient” with another $1. She kindly told me that my $4.50 bowl is already with all the additional ingredients; most people ordered the $3.50 portion. The big bowl portion came with Tau Pok, a number of fish cake slices, half a hard boiled egg and some cockles. Portion of thick beehoon noodles was definitely generous. Though the laksa gravy was quite nice, we felt that it was not “Lemak” enough and tasted thinly of dried shrimps. The cockles were few and rather small; I should have paid another $1 for additional cockles. Would have made a difference. All in all, it’s a satisfactory economical laksa meal. Cannot expect more for $4.50 a bowl really.
