Most inclusive aerial studio I’ve ever been to! Don’t worry if you think you’re unfit or not bendy enoughβ€”You’ll improve as you go along! Also, they’ve excellent crash mats and safety precautions to ensure that you learn and explore in a safe environment.

I have been training at this studio since 2016 and it has been an enriching and good experience. The instructors are very skilful and I always look forward to their guidance. It's really rewarding when you finally master a particular movement !!! E.g. a trick that I might have been struggling previously-- I feel a lot of joy when I can finally do the trick and later, to do it with ease and grace. Aerial arts is about being graceful and as it is commonly said, 3 minutes of your performance on stage would require 10 years of hard labour off stage. What I really like about the studio's training approach is the long warm up and conditioning (ranging from 20 minutes to 45 minutes) as part of the 1.5-hour long class. It is really easy to learn tricks but the crux is doing these tricks safely and ensuring that you have a long "career"/ journey as a hobby aerialist. If you are looking for a studio to just keep teaching you tricks, this might not be the studio for you. In the first place, if you don't condition your body and work hard, your risk of injuries are very high and once you are injured, you will be completely out for a while. And I haven't even talked about the cons of dealing with injuries and the cons of not rehabilitating your injuries which leads to recurrent injuries. What gives the AFS' training syllabus its rigour/ high quality is this emphasis on safety and progression only when the student is competent. A summary of my experience: - Aerial trial class: A taster of what you will experience during the 8-week courses and it is really for anyone as long as they do not have health issues. It's all right if you do not have the strength to do a pull-up/ find that you are lacking in upper body strength. -Beginner course: 8 weeks course to introduce you to the 3 apparatus. - Level 1 to 4 courses: To slowly train you up for the really difficult stuff I was not promoted up to the next level before and I had to repeat a particular level. The perseverance pays off though. Very hard to explain in words. Overall, it's fun and rewarding to progress through the term. Overall summary of what I like about the studio: Pros: -In terms of learning, it's a SAFE and FUN environment. I went for a dinner at a cafe nearby with my silk sisters (the ladies in my silks class). Opposite the studio is quite a few food places. - Clean environment -Accessible with 2 MRTs nearby. If you take any bus from Bendemeer MRT to the bus stop in front of the studio at Lavender street, it is free/ no additional charge from your train ride. -There are quite a few practice sessions scheduled throughout the week for you to practise the tricks/ routine you learnt. Cons (An objective review should talk about the cons): -There is no shower facility. I find that this is more of CT Hub 2's fault though. The only shower I could find is the toilet at level 5 where the swimming pool is located. Even so, AFS provides wet wipes for you to do a simple wipe down. My personal opinion is that since aerial classes are definitely of moderate to high intensity, you might as well go home and take a good shower to reward yourself after class. A change of your t-shirt will definitely be necessary and enough. Overall, the pros far outweighs the con and thus, a 5 star rating.

I have been attending AFS since 2018. Initially, I thought it would be an intimidating sport but I am thankful for the lovely and patience teachers such as Hazel, Jess, Alex and Ringo! :) I have never done aerial in my entire life so when I came and signed up, I started off with the beginners course before moving onto other classes. I have done yoga before but aerial yoga or anything to do with aerial is a whole new level. I hope that new students to AFS take their time to get to know this activity because it does take time and patience++++. From someone who cannot do a flip on the hammock to now doing handstands on it. I thank the AFS team for getting me here. I strongly recommend that you give it a shot but with much safety involved :) if you are new to this, always check with the teachers. I remember a student who just came in and tried this immediately, and her tooth was chipped off as we were trying out a new trick. As much as I love this activity, I will also advise you to do it with much caution and safety! Don't be afraid to approach the teachers. Lastly, NEVER compare yourself with others. It's your own journey, not theirs. Have a go and have fun! <3

Very dedicated and specialized instructors. Class size are kept small compared to other schools so they can give individuals more attention. The aerial burn class is helpful for building strength. Hazel is the most awesome aerial instructor i ever met! I highly recommend anyone that wants to try aerial to try this school.

I have been with AFS for more than 2 years and will be for many more years. The trainers there understand the importance of safety and conditioning in learning aerial for the long run. Also the availability of self-practice sessions allows me ample opportunity to practice If you're planning to learn well and safely, this is the studio for you

Aerial Fitness is kept clean and well organized. With a team of very proficient and motivating instructors, the studio evokes an upbeat and positive vibe throughout their sessions. The front desk is approachable and staff are readily available to answer any queries. The studio's relatively huge space and high ceiling, let's one feel at ease upon entering the studio. Well equipped with various high quality equipments, the studio offers a variety of courses for students. Aerial Fitness has a very informative website that provides adequate information about the classes offered as well as upcoming activities.
