Love the decor in the shop, but the queues are usually long and the dessert I want is always out of stock. The yam paste with tangyuan is very nice, the paste is thick and flavourful. Egg pudding was cold and tasty without being too sweet. Prices are alright, most desserts go for $3-5 and portions are enough for one person. Hopefully, they don't keep running out of the peanut / black sesame.

Awesome place to grab Chinese desserts, both warm as well as cold ones. Favorites include mango sago pomelo, sago pearl, Hong Kong red bean ice with the option of adding a dollop of fresh durian or ice cream.

Chinese style desserts or " tong sui" meaning sweet water in Cantonese are so much more subtle than Western cakes and ice cream but really hit the spot when a refreshing treat is needed. Ah Chew's desserts have a wide range of enjoyable ones. From the light chin chow or grass jelly made from a local herb to the thick black sesame cream and the more stodgy black glutinous rice pudding , we had it all. And more , sharing mochi balls filled with peanut crumbs in a light ginger syrup. Prices were reasonable at about $13 for all 4 , but I really felt that the standard had dropped. The desserts were not sweet , in fact a tad tasteless and too thin ( except for the grass jelly which was perfect) The coconut cream was beautifully piped in a spider web pattern but was more like milk than cream. Perhaps they were keeping the desserts healthy but one does eat desserts for the richness and sweetness, so that was a little disappointing . It felt more like acost saving measure and I felt a little deprived

My all time favourite dessert place has out done itself yet again. Within 3 mins the staff managed to find us a seat, helped us with our order and brought us our delicious mango sago dessert! Not sure if any other place can work as efficiently as these guys and serve such amazing desserts! As always the mango sago was the perfect treat for a blazing day and I can't wait to head back for more?

Ending off with a bowl of hot/cold desserts had become my essential. However, I am also very particular about the taste and quality. Maybe thatโ€™s because I know how to make the real stuff (but lazy) that is why I cannot compromise the standard. I never had Ah Chew dessert before but I saw long Q amount the other 2 desert stall nearby therefore I Q.. We were lucky/unlucky to have a table very soon and happy that itโ€™s in front of the serving counter (photo of open kitchen). Firstly, when I wanted to order my food, I was asked to follow the Q outside in a hostile voice from the cashier. It really turns me off. Second, the way they scoop the dessert from the pot, they just drip all over the counter and it just look Soo messy and not appetising. Thirdly, the taste.. It sooo diluted, starchy although itโ€™s not too sweet. There is definitely no quality, all are just plenty of starch. To meโ€ฆ itโ€™s not worth the time to go and Q, no quality, lousy taste. Disappointed ?

This shop always has a long queue, its desserts are constantly good. The seating however is quite cramped up. Just opposite Bugis Junctionโ€™ Joshโ€™s Grill. The whole Liang Seah Street comes to life at night!

Always long queue. We went around 6.40pm and still can get a table for us. Only allow 30 minutes dine in time upon food served. Ordered one yam sago and one steamed milk egg white. Steamed milk egg white was just warm while served. Have to finish it quickly otherwise became cold. Yam sago was so so. Guess they mixed coconut milk with milk and tasted odd. Itโ€™s definitely not my cup of coffee. Donโ€™t know what is the hype and always long queue. The menu is on the table. The font and photo are very small, I am sure our parents canโ€™t read. But you still can take a photo with your phone and zoom it.

The shop is small and is located opposite Bugis Junction. There is always a long queue for ordering. The auntie would pass you the menu when it's your turn so that you can write your orders on a piece of paper and she would give you a table. You have to place your order at the cashier, which is another queue. Dining time is restricted to 30 minutes. The desserts are still good but the queue is really long.
