Foods were good. Reasonable prices. Famous for some local delights (min Jang que). Service was fast. Always long queue.

Love the peanut Min Jiang kueh. Generous filling and rich flavour of peanut and peanut butter in the chewy charcoal Kueh. Will definitely be back to try other flavours. Hakka signature bowl has two tofu, two meatballs and veg. Food is nice and fresh but felt overpriced.

Ah Lock & Co is absolutely trashy. Went today during peak lunch and the slow girl with the blonde fringe wasn't efficient in her job. Not forgetting about how there was a non existence of service oriented staff. Tried their promotion $1 Mi Jiang kueh and visually I could see there were 3 flavours of which she didn't even know what they were. Because of the long queue and good reviews, I made the worst decision to try this horrible "restaurant" . Firstly they sell hakka rice bowls and very unfortunate to say, there was 0 resemblance/ authenticity. Coming from generations of pure hakka decent, this was really embarrassing. What kind of hakka food incorporates random hyped ingredients without contemplating about flavour. It was a total fad, I cant believe they have the audacity to call it a mordern twist. I did say it's a mordern mess. Just a poor excuse for the incompetency and lack of flavour. After the long queue, most of their items were crossed out on their menu too so I settled for their signature hakka rice bowl and han ji pang. A genuine quick question for Ah Lock and Co. What made you all think placing peanut butter in a cold mushy han jin pang was a good idea? Maybe matter of fact han jin pang isn't hakka either so it's not sticking to the theme. Potato salad? Matcha pudding? What? I'm sorry im just perplexed as to how Ah lock and Co wants to be selling and doing the utmost but couldn't even get their signature right. Truly a bewildering experience. Negative stars + won't recommend unless you're into hyped food and scammy fads #NoStankTofu #DoBetter My afterthoughts of the response from management: Hello Ah Lock, I appreciate the quick reply and honest accountability. Since Ah Lock justified about peanut butter on Mi jiang kueh, it occurred to me about how peanuts are actually a staple to hakka cuisine. Speaking of which there were also none of the basic hakka staples in their rice bowls. The theme on appealing to the masses could also be rephrased as doing a business to just get as much customers as they can without caring for the quality. McDonald's sells alot of burgers but no one is telling mcdonalds that they're the pinnacles of cuisine and that is true of Ah lock & Co. The misinformation is very deceiving and misleading. The signboard and presentation in itself is giving Japanese vibes. Along with what I believe to be mentaiko sauce along many other extra things they're putting into a hakka bowl. How can you introduce the masses to hakka food without incorporating basic hakka food and elements of flavour. Just like how the signature only had factory made chicken ball and some sad slices of tofu. It was very lacking. Here is a list of ingredients in their hakka ricebowls: teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, seaweed, tamago egg. The most ironic one has to be the Hakka beef ricebowls with ingredients such as Beef, Shimeji Mushrooms, Sousvide Egg, Seaweed, Sesame Seeds on Japanese short grain rice. May I know what part of that is hakka? Not forgetting about the diluted weird tasting green tea which is also once again giving Japanese. Overall the assignment wasn't understood. Do take into consideration of just removing word "hakka" in front of every rice bowl. Just to cite an example of the hakka salmon rice bowl. It's giving donburi which doesn't relate back. At the end of the day I'm not here to police about what a business can or cannot sell neither should I teach a business how to business. The authenticity factor was just my personal take on how it's quite offensive to appropriate food. It's the audacity to self proclaim as a #1 Hakka ricebowl in Singapore for me. As for the han jin pang, it was an error and I actually meant to say mi jiang kueh. Regardless of what it is there's no peanut butter in both of that items nor is it hakka. ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️ oh well, I'm absolutely lost for words, this is so sad. A true mordern monstrosity indeed

Was super delighted when I know @ahlocknco is a collaboration between @munchidelights and Ah Lock Tofu, (2 hawker stalls operating in Yishun Park Hawker Centre) as I love @munchidelights Min Jiang Kueh and travelling to Guoco Tower is definitely much easily than to Yishun? while they may not have the full menu such as Munchi Pancake and Mini Munchi, just the MJK is enough to satisfy the craving in me. And I only love their MJK ?? the MJK skin is those spongy and chewy type plus their generous amount filling ? Charcoal Peanut. Overflowing with molten peanut filling and I love that the peanut filling was the super chunky type which added extra crunch. Charcoal Coconut. So generous serving of coconut fillings and I got hard time picking it up as the filling keep dropping ? I love that is not too sweet. Green Tea Red Bean. The red bean was super smooth and not too overly sweet. Ig: @zoey_belle_

This is my first BAD review about a restaurant or food eatery. I’ve never given any food establishment a nasty review but I cannot accept this. I ordered a Salmon bowl. When it came, I noticed my fish was burnt. I brought it back to the counter and enquire. This was Sunday 11th July around 1.30pm. The girl at the counter told me it is NORMAL if you grill a Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce. Can anyone of you accept it? Did she think I have not cooked a single day or what? There is a difference between a grilled fish and a burnt grilled fish. She refused to exchange it for me. It is OK if you cannot exchange, maybe you are just a staff working there; but it is not OK to call it a “normal” fish when it is really BURNT. That’s lying and that’s unethical. I do not recommend this place at all.

I’ve decided to try out because I love thunder tea rice and Mi Jian Kueh. Didn’t know of a place that offers both! I’ve ordered the Veggie version and the Macha red beans Mi Jian Kueh and it only comes up to $8.80 because they are having a promotion for $1 for the Mi Jian Kueh if you order their main course. The vegetables in my order are really fresh though I prefer the non-creamy ones more. I might have misinterpreted it to be thunder tea rice and guess that’s why there’s no thunder tea to go with it. But I absolutely love the Mi Jian Kueh! The red bean paste is not too sweet and it’s very well spread and really good amount of it. I especially love the crispy edges of the kueh. It’s crispy until my last bite! Not all Mi Jian Kueh are like that, so I’m definitely going to get another piece on my next trip there. If you like the crispy edges too, ask for the triangle piece, you’ll have more edges to enjoy. The service is great because you can see the staff are really trying hard to get your orders done quickly and efficiently. They are all multi-tasking. Kudos to their efforts! ??Worth a trip there!

Wanted to try out this for a long long time after seeing so many reviews on it. Happened to be around the area and yes finally got the chance to try it. Indeed it was really good, love the mixture of the Impossible rice bowl with the veggies. They blended well together ?. The Min Jiang Kueh was so good too! ?

Tried this place for the first time and I really enjoyed my visit. First of all, staff were nice and welcoming. Food selection is great as they offer a variety of quick meals. I had their Hakka Signature Rice Bowl which was only $7.80. The Hakka Meatball really stood out as the flavour was beautifully done. Chose Homemade Potato Salad and Homemade Coleslaw as sides. On the other hand, their Min Jiang Kueh was also amazing for only $1.60. Loved the Charcoal Peanut and Coconut pancakes. I’ll definitely come back here and can’t wait to try the rest of their Hakka bowls. Their crispy broccoli looks promising too. This will be one of my go-to places to indulge. Can’t wait to recommend Ah Lock & Co to my friends and family members. I’m just hooked! Yay!
