β β β β β We came across Schubert by recommendation of family members whom had their house renovated with him before.
As a first time home owner in SG, we are quite clueless of materials and process. Schubert is very helpful in taking time to explain and guide us. We went to visit many showrooms to see pick tiles and color schemes we wanted.
Even though we were living overseas at the time the renovations started, Schubert is able to design our dream house the way we hope it would be. He is very patient to work with us and think of all the details to get the best use for the spaces provided.
The renovation finished on time as promised. The house looks fantastic just like we dream it would be. The quality of workmanship is good. Most importantly, after the deliver date, if there are any problems he would make sure everything is fixed and run smoothly as it should. He truly stands behind his work.
We feel that we put our house in good hands. We love our house and really appreciate working with Anhans.

β β β β β ID was Annie intially and then Schubert took over.
ID did not meet deadline for handover completion. There were many workmanship issues. Parquet floor sanding was uneven which resulted in unsightly wavy surface appearance. Study table top was sagging even before use and ID refused to build a new one to replace β we ended up asking for refund of table from ID and we wasted much time to hunt for another carpenter by ourselves just to make a proper table.
Project management and site supervision by ID were poor and lacking. We spent much time monitoring and had to highlight to ID on various defects as work progresses, poor paint job, slanted pelmet and L-Box, dents on parquet floor and cabinetry, missing wiring, variance in carpentry measurement against ID design drawings and amazingly, that the reno permit had expired and ID unaware. Major part of the reno is on carpentry works and most of the times, the carpenter workers arrived at site around lunch time or after as they travelled from JB.
Most frustrating and outrageous issue is that the installed cabinetry material is different from mutual agreement and detailed design drawings as prepared by the ID. The detailed design drawings clearly stated the brand and colour codes of the plywood with PVC covering as per the product catalogue which ID showed to us prior. The brand to be used is βde Cabinetβ, of which 3 colour codes were selected and specified for the various cabinetry. After installation, we had suspicion that the material installed is different. Thus, we asked Schubert and he assured us that correct material was installed. We requested him to bring the de Cabinet product catalogue to our house so that we can compare against the installed material. He did not do so even after we had reminded him. The boss of the carpentry company (which is the sub-contractor engaged by our ID) came to our house when doing the outstanding work and he confirmed that correct material was installed. However, he also did not bring along the de Cabinet product catalogue for us to make comparison.
We therefore decided to visit de Cabinet office cum warehouse on our own accord and brought along the loose shelves to find out the truth. We were advised by the staff there that none of the material are theirs. We informed Schubert on this discovery and finally he admitted thereafter when he visited us at our house and brought along product catalogues of de Cabinet and 2 other unfamiliar brands β Seawin and ZJ Cabinet. He admitted that Seawin colour code SW92 was installed instead of de Cabinet colour code 2992; Seawin colour code SW18 was installed instead of de Cabinet colour code 9465 and ZJ Cabinet colour code 2403 was installed instead of de Cabinet colour code 8484 (see photos). We noticed that on the front cover of the de Cabinet product catalogue, it had its website address which was partially covered by paint, perhaps to obscure its legibility and we were perplexed for the reason. The de Cabinet office address can be searched on Google, which we did to lead us there.
Schubert gave us 2 options β one was to refund 50% of the affected cabinetry cost and the other was 100% refund but all the installed cabinetry must then be dismantled and removed. We asked him to negotiate on the refund percentage amount and to consider offering lifetime or extended years of warranty period for the affected cabinetry but he flatly declined. As we had already moved in to the house and there are outstanding works to be completed by ID, we decided on the 50% refund. It took us some weeks and chasing ID for the money to be actually refunded. After the refund, no monies were owed by us to the ID, as ID had offset the final 5% contract payment amount from the refund amount.
There was no further visit by ID to our house to do site supervision of the outstanding work even with our repeated requests. Neither did the carpenter boss. Carpentry rectification works and also painting and pelmet rectification are still not done despite much chasing and it has been some months already. We feel abandoned by ID.
