Aurora Spin Studio at South Beach Quarter - 36 Beach Rd

Fun class with a dedicated instructor. Had a great session :)

My review still does not show on ClassPass. Sorry very mixed feelings this time. Came to Aurora as really loved not only the studio (spacious, good location, interesting concept, big changing rooms - although not sure any of the lockers ever work and no one from clients ever knows how to use them; luckily Singapore is safe enough not to care about this) but also their Fundamentals class with Alexandra (although my intro class was in reality maybe 10th spin class combined from various studios) - very clear and not rushed explanations in the beginning, instructor's voice 100% clear, took time to correct postures - class was both calm but also enough of sweat. I can say this was a 90% class for newbies to feel comfortable, not intimidated/very welcomed and good to go at their own pace. I really left that particular class very happy/motivated. This time for the regular class had an unfortunate bike placement right under aircon - initially thought it is a speaker as why would a bike be placed right under blasts of cold air. So instead of sweating and enjoying the exercise I got brain freeze, ice cold back and found it hard to breath during class - left the class early as could not take anymore - I now feel like getting a cold rather than that nice post strain hot sweat to wipe with a towel - even after walking 2km back home my back was still ice cold. Instructor Ian Peh was attentive, fun and keeping the motivation up, with a right balance of slow and fast pace and arm exercise - would love to join his other class but under different circumstances. However can hardly understand the words through the music - a bit like trying to talk to a barman in a v. loud club but not understanding a thing. I understand the music is to be loud as this is how spin classes are, but blaring music and instructors voice over it just does not make sense. So left not only cold (it is a day later now and I developed a full on cold) but also annoyed. I noted this varies from class to class/studio/instructor but cannot see the point in hearing only garbled words instead of instructions (and I am not old/with bad hearing). Sadly I joined this on ClassPass so had no 'priviledge' to pick bike location and felt that if I had left the class earlier no credits would be returned or rebooked to another class in the future. Will return to Aurora but only to Fundamentals class, the 'regular' class is perhaps for seasoned riders or ones who love aircon/ or Aurora members who can pick better bike placement.

Absolutely enjoyed my trial class there. The studio is well maintained with full of facilities. The instructor is super energetic and encouraging which makes the class really enjoyable. Front desk staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Love love love this place! The light system and smoke effect just makes the whole workout feels effortless because all Im thinking about is the pumping music and galaxy-like stars on the ceiling! The workout pace is right for me, and it's suitable for beginners as well ?!

Very accessible studio, well equipped with spin bikes and great speakers. Showers are also available, with hair dryers and towels for use. Spin class was fun, first time having a live DJ class and first time with weights. Time well spent! ✔️

We went for our very first spin class at Aurora Spin Studio using class pass credits last Wednesday. Thereafter, we tried out one other spin class at a different studio and other activities, we found this to be our best experience. Our instructor was Jess, and I personally loved her! Her instructions were super clear especially if I were to compare it with our experience at the other studio that we went to. I could tell that Jess is a very particular person as she kept apologising for a single strip of neon lights that were not working (couldn’t tell even when she pointed it out) and also the sound system when it was really crisp and clear, apart from some feedback here and there because the staff on duty could not rectify it. Her workouts and instructions were on point, and she catered to the various needs of the participants by differentiating her instructions in order to keep them engaged. Overall, I love her attention to detail and high energy enthusiasm.

What a lovely studio with great atmosphere. The toilets also provide lots of shower facilities with soap. I love the lighting in the spin room too.

Wow! It’s really a mind blowing experience to spin here at Aurora, super helpful staff, for beginners, they always don’t hesitate to help you set up the bike, explaining the different types of spin room they have. With mind blowing clubbing experience LED lights, they have almost 30 trainers there, definitely you will be able to find someone that you like. Many many different time slots, never once worried I can’t book a slot for myself. Different from other spin studios, as they might be lack in man power, thus once you purchased a package, you worried you might needa fight for a slot or book way in advance. Such situations I didn’t face it before in Aurora. Staff always stationed themselves inside the studio just in case anyone needed help on the bike or got unclicked. Once, one of the staff even offered to refill water for my gf when the class started and she couldn’t rush herself to the water dispenser. Totally deserves a shout out here. Instructors are super super friendly and interactive. Always love to have conversations with the students after the class ends and ask us how do we feel about the class. Some other studios might have better bikes, coz aurora uses life brands, kinda not stable, but their instructors are just different, they give you the welcome feeling, made you feel like a community here. Some other studios do have better bikes, but the vibe is different, like lacking some touch. Nothing wrong, but it feels good when you attended a class alone and the instructors bothered to make you feel welcome when they saw new faces. That being said, guys please hire someone to fix the toilets please, it’s really gross lol, with all the hair, slimy stuff around, and the hair dryers are falling off. With these improved, you guys are the best spin studios for sure!
