Bincho at Hua Bee - 78 Moh Guan Terrace

Enjoyed the tori zukushi set ($90), which consisted of appetiser, skin salad, yakitori shio platter (softbone, gizzard, tail), tsukune with egg yolk, yakitori tare platter (heart, liver, neck), yakitori don, and dessert. The yakitori neck and tail were particularly good - the interesting chewy texture and the charcoal grilled flavour. Also enjoyed the grilled beef tongue. The grilled baby yam was good - warm and moist, though pricey. The grilled pacific saury was too bony and pricey. The yakitori don was good - the rice and the charcoal grilled flavour of the chicken. The soup that came with it had depth of flavour. The coffee jelly dessert was great - reminded me of gula melaka. The ginger beer was easy to drink. Good service.

Loved the old school Japanese vibes at this intimate yakitori joint, with a hidden entrance at the back towards the carpark. At the front, there is a famous mee pok store that operates during the day. Today’s menu was mostly chicken cooked over a charcoal grill, and most of the dishes were tasty. The chicken meatball with the rice was also delicious, and service was pretty fast. It is a very small place, so do not expect to sit long in there. For the price though, portions were rather small. In fact, after the meal, my wife - who is usually a small eater - had to join me for a plate of Tiong Bahru char kway teow at the nearby market.

Really interesting atmosphere, going for the set was worth it as the 9 course meal was extremely filling and covered a wide variety of dishes. Pretty decent sake deal too but was too full to get a bottle… will be back for that

Will you pay $8 for a small plate of fresh fruits? Basically 1 quarter orange and 1 strawberry sliced into 2. And will you pay $5 for a glass of green tea? This place is overrated. They charge premium price for every dish but it's just so so to me. Don't go.

Thanks Adrian, Chen Lingjie, Cheeeeee Weilin for accompanying me to the place. We literally had a drink session 11am on a friday non weekend. The rice wine reminds me of my home country. The space is relatively small, you had to sit in a line not together so I suggest couples only. You have to check in before coming in... Toilet is like a secret chamber, would surprise you ? The price is ridiculously expensive

This restaurant was tough to find. Drove around the block twice and still did not see any restaurant. So decided to just take a leap of faith and park at the nearest location shown in google maps. We then walked to the unit number and it was a bak chor mee store!! Was going to call the restaurant when my wife asked the bak chor mee owner about the restaurant, turns out you have to walk through the bak chor mee store to a back door to reach the restaurant. The concept reminds me alot of the back alley Yakitori in Osaka, but more atas and definitely higher price. Besides the usual yakitori here, there were also some higher end fares like Japanese Wagyu, Oyster, snow crab and fancy salads and desserts. The food quality is good, however i felt the yakitori was abit blander than what we have had before in Japan. Service was fine dining standards, which should be expected since we are paying fine dining prices.

Google needs to provide the option to give more than 5 stars for places that exceed your expectations. Because Bincho is definitely one of them... every single dish was of high quality and tasted like something I've never had before.. Service was amazing as well!! Their grilled cabbage salad really took me by surprise. Who would've though cabbage could taste this good!
