average wait time is not 30-45mins, busy hours can be up to 2 hours wait, appointment needs to be booked few weeks in advance. This is due to renovation and lack of beds. Staff is courteous and professional.

Have been going to this Bloodbank @ Dhoby Ghaut since I started to donate blood. The venue is so convenient and the staff are patient and polite. The entrance has relocated near entrance which is easily spotted.

Don't be afraid to donate your blood. Usually only less than one hour of your time (every 3 months) but it is vital for people who needs the blood. The most convenient place with convenient opening hours after the HPB changing its opening hours.

Was shocked at the treatment i received from one of the staff there. I went down to donate blood and passed all the checks. Informed them beforehand that I donated blood 3 times before but failed once on my left arm. As such, I advised accordingly and asked them to take from my right arm. They tried several times but still failed. That was not upsetting, however, an older staff came over and had a long rant on how it's unfair for me to come donate blood when I knew I couldn't. This was not true as I had 2 successful blood donations from that same arm. Went down to do something nice but was scolded due to their incompetence. I would also like to add that the first staff (younger) that served me was very gracious and kind. It was only the 2nd, more senior staff that had a grudge against the world. Edit: I was there on the 21st February 2022, ard 430pm to 530pm

The administrative work done is extremely inconsistent. The first time I came in 2018/2019, I was told that since I stayed with a Hep B carrier, I would have to bring a certificate showing I had sufficient antibodies, or would have to take a booster shot for Hep B. The doctor had specifically told me, that as long as I took the shots, I would be able to donate my blood, and any uncertainty would be clarified with blood tests on your end. Hence, I did not successfully donate my blood on that occasion. As such, I took three shots for antibodies of Hep B, and had been cleared that I was Hep B negative with sufficient antibodies in mid-2020. After the waves of COVID-19, I returned in Sept 2021 for my first donation. I had showed my certificate of Hep B vaccination, and was told they would run tests on my blood to be safe. When I returned for my second donation in Apr 2022, I was told that I would not be allowed to donate my blood as I stayed with a Hep B carrier, despite just donating half a year ago. They stated they could not find my records for blood tests, and requested for me to redo my Hep B vaccinations. Quoting the staff there, they said "It is now 2022, you did your vaccination in 2020" (It has not even been 2 years). They also said "Donating your blood will be bringing harm to the patients". With reference to the final statement - if my blood had passed the first round of checks in Sept 2021, and I had paid $100+ to get my vaccinations done just for blood donation, why would it be bringing harm to the patients? That is extremely rude to say to someone who had put in much effort to donate their blood. Besides that, if it was harmful to patients that I had donated my blood to, wouldn't it be negligence on the end of the staff who had assisted me in Sept 2021? In addition, it would not make sense for me to get my vaccinations again, when I had just finished the set less than 2 years ago (It takes 7-8 months to finish all three shots). Please do not complain about the "number of young blood donors in Singapore declining" - instead, please fix the procedures. It is scary to even think about returning to such accusations, when it was a problem with the administrative work in the centre.

I had an amazing experience here as a first time blood donor. Firstly the location is very convenient, located in the MRT Station. And the 'check in' and form filling is very systematic and efficient. You will go through iron count and interviews to see if you are suitable donor, you'll feel comfortable and at ease with the nurses professionalism. Here's the blood donation experience, as a first timer they ensure you are at ease, explain the procedures and ensure you are comfortable. Quite a breeze until I almost black out! THANK YOU to the nurses who responded quickly and the doctor also checked my BP. I was back to normal in a few minutes. Lucky I made it for 1 bag of blood before they pulled the needle out. Yay! Fantastic team at Doby Ghaut blood Bank!
