Compassionate shelter who actually help street animals who need medical assistance and prompt replies from them via email! I really appreciate their support ! Thanks alot !

*Tip about directions included* As a first time volunteer and having never owned dogs before, I felt uncertain about how to handle them, and the volunteers at CAS were good in showing me how to care for the animals and building my confidence. I probably needed some TLC myself during that time too, and the animals really gave me so much more love than I could give them. They are fully volunteer-run and the work they do is not easy and time-consuming, so it's good to support them. They will really appreciate your donations and sponsorships for the animals too! Also I got really attached to a dog called Wiseman (the brown dog that's always in my photos here haha). He's bit large (not HDB approved) and has a kind and protective soul! If you're able to adopt please keep a lookout for him! :) They have other animals (eg cats) for adoption too! TIP: Some have mentioned the place does not exist - it does! Just don't follow the GPS direction because the road is blocked and it doesn't go through. Good to check with the shelter people when they give you the location before the day you are supposed to go. From my experience, try going by the new Aerospace highway or Jln Kayu. It is a bit inaccessible and that's the case with all the animal shelters because of government regulations and space requirements for the dogs to run, but it certainly is worth the trip because there is so much love in the hooman and animals in this place! I'll always remember the kindness and generosity that people have shown me when I was there. Thanks CAS for existing and making a difference in my life and so many other lives, both people and animals! :)

Quick response, but like the other reviewer, the place is very selective in the dogs they want to find homes for. The informant was rude and did not want to respond to any enquiries other than for me to adopt a specific dog. Would have actually considered adopting the dog, if she was more helpful with my enquiries.

Horrible customer service. I came all the way from the east just to volunteer but I couldn't find the place even after walking for about 30+ mins (after alighting at a bus stop at Yio Chu Kang Road) as I followed instructions given in google maps. I then messaged the number stated in CAS website to ask for help to get to the location. The lady was nice enough to send me pictures to guide me and I really appreciated her help. However, the instructions and pictures she sent were not clear at all and extremely confusing. I still ended up getting lost again. When I asked the lady for help to get there again, she was rather rude and told me to book another session as I was already late. She also said that I would not be able to do anything if I were to get there. I could've been on time if the lady gave more specific instructions and responded quickly. In the end, I did not volunteer at all. I understand that I may not be able to do much volunteer work even if I reach the place as I was already late (due to time wasted on finding the place). But, the lady could've told me in a nicer tone or nicer way instead of simply dismissing me and saying that there was 'no point walking in'! Extremely horrible experience!

Quick to respond via email, but does not seem to be eager to find good homes for their animals. They were not interested in gathering or sharing any information when I sent an inquiry. While I appreciate their goal and the work that they supposedly do, based off of my interaction, other reviews and visiting their website, they seem to be poorly managed, which is a shame for the animals. Hope they take feedback seriously and well, and work to improve their organization.

Sent them a few messages in the first instance regarding volunteering to help . Never got a reply Then sent a few regarding information on adopting a dog that they posted a picture of on their Facebook page. Reply was pretty blunt and Uninformative Requested where I could see or view the dog to learn more... Never heard back.. Wondering what kind of dog loving charity they are or if this just another small local group of friends that do their own thing and are uninterested in outside help..? From the other comments it seems that they are in general Unhelpful Unresponsive Seem to be turning helpful animal lovers away... Perhaps look elsewhere if you like dogs I also don’t see much attempt from them to reply to these posted comments and feedback.

This is more than just a 'dog shelter' to me. I see this as a spiritual refuge and a place of redemption from my own demons that have haunted me from my past and by being service for the dogs there - I connect with them on a deep level and have built some really beautiful and magical relationships with some of the little (not VERy little :P) buggers there. Favourite dogs would be Fokker, Sammy, Harry & Arthos! When I initially volunteered at CAS I was undergoing severe depression and by showing up and doing the work, it really helped to alleviate my depression and I see a part of myself in the dogs there - it is something that can't be explained by words. Please go there and give these souls love. Be of service for them and expect nothing in return - but trust me, the love they'll return is extremely heart touching.

Went for volunteering, place is well maintained, dogs are well kept. But experience was poor as Marcus was when we asked questions. That kinda turns people away from wanting to volunteer but I guess there’s already a long queue of volunteers hence why service is so poor
