Called in to get help for a kitten in trouble - stuck on the roof - and was rudely told that they don't help such instances and quickly brushed us off to get help from others. Doubt they care about animals at all. Horrible

I adopted my male Shih Tzu dog from SPCA in the 90s. He was 2.5 yrs old then. The staff checked that I was willing and prepared to provide a loving and stable home for him. He gave me 120% of love, devotion and loyalty. I took him with me when I migrated. He passed away at 16.5 yrs old from ripe old age. In the adopted land, I adopted a 3 year old female Pomeranian dog which was sent to a vet clinic to be put down just because the owner had 1 dog too many and the vet staff approached me. She thought I dog napped her and was behavioural but over months, she settled down. She too gave me 120% of love, devotion and loyalty. She died at 18.5 yrs old. It took me 20 years to care for my dogs until they passed away but the love they returned is something I don't take for granted. Rescue dogs given 2nd chance know and usually appreciate you for giving them a second chance of finding their forever home. So before rushing off buying dogs from pet shops, please consider giving rescue dogs a new chance. Also, for those who can, please donate to SPCA and other shelters for the fantastic work they are doing. Most of them are animal lovers who work or volunteer because of their love and compassion for the rescue animals. They need to be firm in choosing and matching the animals to the right new owners as many of the animals have been abandoned, abused or undergone other trauma and really deserve a fair go in their forever home. Those who can may like to consider bequeathing a donation in their wills to support their good work in animal rescue and public education too.

Wanted to adopt a stray to replace my adopted stray of 22 years but got the runaround about registering and then be assigned a slot to view and then be hinted that I am too old, 75 years old, as if oldies do not take care of or need pets! Apparently they haven't heard that Covid 19 rules were relaxed.

I highly recommend adoption from SPCA. It is hassle free, much cheaper to adopt than any of the adoption centres. I filled form but am not β€˜interrogated’ like other adoption centres. The SPCA staff are helpful and even email me my dog’s puppy stage photos. I really appreciate their help. Sincerely recommend adoption from SPCA. Keep up the good effort SPCA!

Visited the place with my 3 kids yesterday and they loved visiting the dogs, kittens, cats and hamsters there! We were mainly interested in the cats. The reception was quite professional in ensuring that we didn't get too close to other groups in the waiting area. My kids were very curious about a kitten who was in a carrier and went close to it. It's good that the reception staff kept reminding us to stay away from the owner cos of SMM measures. We managed to view the animals 10min before our appt time. So nice of them! We were the only group there. The lady staff was very patient with us. I asked a lot of questions and she knew the animals very well. She gave good advice and it really made me feel like wanting to adopt a kitten right away. Even though when I emailed them earlier, they did mention that they may not have time for my questions on what they did for the animals there. But after hearing from them, it's clear the staff knew these animals very well and answered my queries, which I am appreciate. For prospective adopters, please view their adoption page on Instagram first or email them to ask the availability of the animals. For cat adoption, you must show them that you have meshed your windows and metal grilles first before they allow you to adopt. And do prepare the carrier to bring the cat /kitten home first. Though the retail shop was not open, do call them to ask if they are willing to open it for prospective adopters. Otherwise its a good experience. Thank you SPCA for the good work!

Clean, well kept. Staff and volunteers are friendly and very helpful. We adopted a cat on the day of adoption drive. Shanon, who is a staff member, was with us almost the whole time answering all our questions with confidence and patience. She was great!!

Our experience at SPCA has been wonderful. We were interested in this little dog and the handler spoke to us in details of her behaviour issues so we were aware of her excessive barking and lack of trust in strangers. We took it very slow, coming back for multiple interactions with the dog. They were very thorough and patient with us as we took over a week, visiting her almost everyday to make sure she was comfortable. They also did a home inspection to make sure we were set up and ready for the adoption, something that made me feel that they truly cared for the animals before letting them be adopted. The handler was extremely supportive and was able to give us a very good idea of what to expect and how to deal with some misbehaviour at the start (no dog is perfect). We started slow and within the next week, we took this little cutie home. She has changed from a little dog that barks at anything and everything to a calm spoilt lazy bum who loves a belly rub and loves sleeping next to the kids. Thank you SPCA for your support. Slow and steady does win the race and the heart of this dog. There was so many animals at SPCA, give them a home if you can, adopt, dont shop.
