This stall has its faithful followers. The fish was fresh, soup had sole fish in there, a good bowl of fish soup but still not very special.

A simple bowl of Batang fish slices which are thick and tasty in my opinion. They do have a few options, eg. Yuan Yang or Fresh slices or fried versions ; you may add fish eggs if available at an additional cost. The fried version usually sells out fast. They do have the mixed seafood with big prawns and red grouper slices versions too. I usually ask for the Bitter Gourd slices with my soup. They add a few fresh slices of ginger too which gives the soup the added punch.

Super fresh fish slices and comforting (beehoon) soup. Great that we get to add the preferred amount of pepper and freshly fried & fragrant onion bits. ?

Had the fried fish noodles on a Saturday morning, before 10am, hence not much of a queue. Super good!! Fish was fresh, soup was delicious. Definitely a stall which I will visit again if there’s no long queue. Do note that price starts from $5, which I think is decent for its quality.

Usually sold out before 1pm, their fish are fresh and the soup has a mild-sweet flavourful taste. Location: Chai Kee, Hong Lim Market & Food Centre, Level 1, 538 Upper Cross St, Singapore 050538
