Rice was too wet, texture was like porridge. When I asked for a small bowl of soup, the lady turned me down curtly without reason, even though customers in front of me got theirs. They were very displeased because I asked for a $3 portion instead of the default $4. Incredulous!

Poor portions and presentation. Tasteless. Questionable hygiene. The roasted meat on level 2 is much better and the queues speak for themselves.

Really good roasted meat - with nice char taste. The chili here reminded me of Engs wanton chili at tanjong katong (which is a good thing). Overall highly recommend this stall for their noodles and roast meats

小龙传奇 @ Hong Lim The Legend Roasted Meat Rice & Noodle I was actually having my beloved sotong ball soup and I chance upon this store. It was not very crowded. Something caught my eye! There is a few lovely looking charsiew hanging and waiting to be noticed. 肥婆叉烧, literally fat lady’s charsiew...hahahah. I decided to give it a try. $8 for a portion please I smiled! Boss took a look at me like I was a radish or we also call it Robert, then replied, “$10 is the minimum.” I was too lost in the grease and shine that I unknowingly handed over $10. When I told my colleague the price, he felt so paiseh to eat it. Fatty charsiew that is sweet, had a flavored charsiew sauce and melts in my mouth. It is less charred than what I liked but it was still good. Not legendary but good! The good news is that the queue is not that long. I will probably give their other meats a try, at least I know I can enjoy a shorter queue than Lee Keong upstairs!

Yesterday I went with my friend to Hong Lim Food Centre to try the 肥婆叉烧 (known as Fat Woman Char Siew in HongKong) or 玻璃叉烧 (Glass Char Siew in Malaysia). This type of char siew is only available at this stall on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Other days are normal Char Siew. It is called glass char siew because it is so translucent, similar to glass. The meat was tender and outside was crispy. To me, it is not translucent enough as glass but they were sure good. This was one of the best Char Siew. A plate of 肥婆叉烧 rice was $6 while their normal char siew rice was $4 & $5. The price of a plate of pure 肥婆叉烧 without rice was $10 minimum order. Slightly expensive but how often we eat char siew like this. Very sinful for health conscious but worth trying.

What a discovery! A hidden gem behind on the 2nd level. Owner is the legendary Bruce Lee’s fan. The Legend Roasted Meat speaks for itself. $4.00 Wanton Mee, is worthy, good serving portion, they roast their own meat in-house, using honey instead of sugar. The dark sauced chicken which I didn’t ordered this time, uses Chinese Wine to bring out its aroma and flavour. The Wonton Mee dry sauce is a bit on the sweet side but complimented very well the roasted pork and dumpling. The dumpling are well made all in-house and of good quality and portion. Should had started with the soup first in order to enjoy its full flavour, the soup is of a higher standard and not too salty. Friendly and enthusiastic store team. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and lots of their ingredients are made in-house, except for the noodle, as I was told. Will come back for sure.

This stall is situated at the back row of the 1st floor of Hong Lim and is where a lot of hidden gems are. This sifu who is clearly a Bruce Lee fan does super 'legendary' char siew too, especially the 肥婆 char siew which is more sinful but melts in your mouth with its caramelized texture. His roasted pork and soy sauce chicken is very good too, definitely a legend chef himself!!

Delicious roast meat at wallet friendly prices. The char siew, roast pork and roast duck are all exceptionally good. The wanton noodles is delicious too. Highly recommended!!
