โ โ โ โ โ In the past month I have been to CGH several times to accompany my mother for various appointments and surgeries.
I have even submitted positive feedback through the hospital's feedback channel for those visits.
However, as much as I would like to give 5 stars here (to be fair, the infrastructure of the hospital is great. We are lucky to enjoy such world class medical facilities in Singapore), today's appointment has undone any of the positive experiences thus far.
The fact that the appointment was supposed to be at 9.50 am, and we arrived at 9.35 am to respect the timing, and the fact that it is now 12.06 pm and we are still waiting, is simply unacceptable.
What is the point of having an assigned timing then?
I understand that medical frontliners are inundated and the hospital is busy, but still, there has to be some limits in terms of how long a patient is supposed to wait, especially when there was a prearranged appointment! Medical professionals deserve all the respect and their time is precious, but so is ours!
*Edit
The doctors did apologize for the wait and it seems that they were really hammered that day. Giving them 1* really undermines the effort they are putting in but we really hope the government looks at the underlying root cause of our medical frontliners being severely overworked and stretched out too thinly

โ โ โ โ โ Alright. I give 2 stars and I hope the management may take their time check the review.
Recently I went CGH a few times. A&E experience and transit experience as usual is bad. Ward experience is relatively better.
The problem lies on overall management. I would say over 50% of nurse and staffโs time were totally doing meaningless activity not helping patient or doctor. This huge resource wastage. Serious work flow / procedure change needed.

โ โ โ โ โ My father was still at A&E and not able to get ward due to many patients. For the admission, I waited for about 30 mins and not being called the name. When I asked the staff, she said the nurse told her the patients has not relative and did admission. Before that doc informed me need to do admission and allowed me to meet my dad inside A&E room. I wondered why they did not look for me for admission or call. I was sitting the area near A&E and admission counter. MY dad need assist for mobility and speaking. Since the admission time (night 8 pm), he did not have enough water and felt too cold. When I went to hospital on next day (around 11:30 am - during visiting hour), I found nurses were busy and not able to give him water. Time to time I tried to go dadโs bed and gave him water. His place was near entrance of A&E and got many people come in and out. Since morning doc said can discharge if result is fine. However no update received even after lunch time and after 5 pm. I had to ask the staff many times from 3 pm to 6 pm for the discharge and finally one nurse did for discharge. The staffs should complete discharge as they do not like me to stand beside dad. When dad reached home, he asked for water and drank a lot. Due to not enough water, dehydration caused my dad have high body temperature on next day.

โ โ โ โ โ Waiting times for medicine collection is extremely long! I've been waiting for an hour for ONE tube of topical cream and still waiting. Not sure when it will be my turn...

โ โ โ โ โ Not good experience here for few occasions. Under staffs and I understand the tension but still need to be consistent, right? How can you ask a patient to walk into do a heart procedure few months later, with no monthly check up and review? Very very bad impression of your professionalism. Ward is mixed male patient can walk over to femaleโs. Thatโs the most unacceptable truth I found out.

โ โ โ โ โ Self tested ART positive. Came over to A&E and nurse tested me as positive, then ask me to sit down and wait. No idea what I'm waiting for, just wait . 1Hr later I ask them what I'm waiting for and a approximate waiting time, nurse say just wait. Doctor only needs to access me as eligible for home recovery program and send me a SMS, in the end waited 3 hours+ before doctor can do something that is easily done within 5 minutes.

โ โ โ โ โ A&E is just terrible. Yes maybe I wasn't a P1 patient. However I went there for an asthma attack together with COVID positive. Informed them about it. I don't expect attention right away but 6 to 8 hours time given just does not make any sense.
They just made me wait and wait and said it'll take 6 to 8 hours. I'm not sure why. It didn't seem that busy in the sick ward. I was queue number 16. I was feeling very unwell and brrathless. The nurse took my blood pressure which was also on the higher side. Then did an ART which the nurse barely did properly. It was negative.
I couldn't take the wait any longer so I left and went to a GP. I was tested positive. Given medication and antibiotics. The reason why I went to A&E in the first place was because I was very breathless . Not going back here again.

โ โ โ โ โ Poor service. Appointment time 1420. Ask to come at 1250 for blood test and nurse advise that result will come out in 1ยฝhours time. 1530 ask the nurse she say not out yet still have to wait. Don't even want to advise or check how long more. Just let you wait like a fool. The pharmacy at the medical centre have ridiculous waiting time. 23 counter but only 7 counter working. Look nice but service not nice. Extremely poor service.
