β β β β β Most expensive chicken rice in Singapore. The rice was the highlight for me. It was very flavourful and well cooked. The soy sauce/chilli/ginger dips were also very tasty. However, the chicken isn't the most tender. The main issue I have is the small portion size. For the price, I would expect a bigger portion. Service can also be more attentive.
We also ordered the rojak, which was nice and fresh. Overall, I think this place is still worth a try, particularly on special occasions.

β β β β β Food was tasty and wholesome, good quality ingredients used. Price was definitely on the high side but still worth it with the nice ambience and pleasant service. Will drop by again soon.

β β β β β Very lemak laksa but not sure why my bowl doesn't have the lobster head or claws. The presentation was very different from the other photos posted here. I like the prawn paste in the rojak. Hokkien prawn mee was good too, goes well with the chilli paste and the two prawns were big and succulent. The ingredients were all very fresh. The coconut ice cream had a strong coconut flavour on the first bite, but slowly tasted more chocolatey than coconuty.

β β β β β The food are amazing, the place is cozy, staff are friendly and very helpful.
My top choice beside the chicken rice, is the rojak, it's so delicious, i think the best rojak i ever ate.
Then the nasi goreng kampong, it's very fragrance.
Lobster laksa is ok, not a big fan with the rice noodles they serve with it, too soft.
Overall have amazing dinner & will comeback again if visit Singapore.
Highly recommend to anyone like peranakan food.

β β β β β Fantastic place! The ambience is really good and the service is nice. The chicken rice was so tasty(not pictured). Beef hor fun was tasty as well and I would recommend it too. Had the coconut dessert, yummy but too big for one person!

β β β β β Would you pay $25 for chicken rice? Not just paying for dish, but also the atmosphere. The rice was good and the chicken smooth and tender. All three dips went well with the meat. I loved the sour plum drink too which was thirst quenching.
What I hope will improve is the service. I went around opening time and they didnβt seem very prepared.

β β β β β Good place, good food! I was skeptical about the chicken rice but they did an excellent job, distinguished themselves from the common chicken rice around Singapore and I will say it's a must try for experience!
Got caught in the water trap; they ask if I want sparkling or still water and I went for still. Next time I'll be reminded to ask for iced water. Good experience overall!

β β β β β This restaurant has been around since 1971 and is conveniently located in the back of level 5 of the Hilton Hotel, formerly the Mandarin Oriental.
The restaurant is very popular, and like with all popular restaurants in Singapore, you should book a table in advance.
We stopped by for an early dinner, without a reservation, and just managed to squeeze in because we came so early.
The staff is helpful and friendly, and very professional.
The menu is extensive, but we focused on their specials. We found the food good, but were expecting more from such a hyped place. The steamed chicken didnβt taste so much. The lobster laksa was good but didnβt reach the same level as others we have tasted. The spicy egg chicken wings were probably our favorite dish. The beers on tap and on bottle were not to our liking at all. In addition, if you sit in the back, bring a sweater - it was freezing. We asked the staff to change the setting, which they immediately tried, but it didnβt help. Several guests refused to sit in that particular area.
We also tried a couple of cocktails and they were fine.
The prices are moderate compared to the average in Singapore.
In summary, we will not come back. Singapore has so much good food to offer and in comparison with other, similar places, we would opt for the competition.
