If you are craving for hot and spicy Sichuan or Chinese foods near Chinatown, this is restaurant for you to enjoy a good meal with your friends and family. Recommended dishes: tomato fried egg, Sichuan fresh fish fillet in sour soup, poached sliced cabbage, glass noodles with minced pork… ?

Went for a weekday lunch and so was not crowded. Ambience is average but the service was attentive. The Chengdu Spicy dumpling was very good, the piquant sauce a just right combination of tartness and chili. The Braised beef ribs were quite flavorful though the quality of beef can be improved. The double boiled pork was barely passable and again the quality of meat used needs to be improved. The star of the show without doubt was the Soicy chicken - traditional fried chicken pieces in a vibrant explosion of deep fried red chilies. The plating and presentation for this dish and others was definitely superior. We also tried the Fried rice which was good without being noteworthy. Will likely go back. Do note that finding parking is an issue as with all restaurants on Amoy street. We parked at Fraser’s which is conveniently close. Got charged a whopping $9 for the 70 minutes!!

Ate at Chengdu twice and I keep coming back for the 干煸肥肠 ($22.80)! It’s not gamey at all and not that spicy, but spicy enough for a good kick! 重庆酸菜鱼 ($22.80) is my second favourite, the soup is less spicy than Ba Shu’s and it’s super addictive! 水煮牛肉 ($25.80), third on my list, the beef tenderloin is very tender. 秘制泉水牛蛙 ($27.80) was more of like mala frog leg, can try if you have extra cash to spare. I used Burpple Beyond vouchers to redeem appetisers, 蒜泥白肉 ($12.80) was a good choice, but 冷锅串串 ($12.80) wasn’t that great. It was more of like mala lok lok, so can consider skipping this for something else. Chengdu’s appetisers do take ages to serve, not sure why but we had the hot dishes served faster than cold appetisers. I also redeemed Pastoral Vegetables, I got 麻婆豆腐 ($12.80), can’t go wrong with this, and 咸蛋黄焗南瓜 ($12.80), crispy pumpkin strips coated with salted egg, hmm so you can imagine salty and sweet flavours at the same time. What I don’t recommend: 歌乐山辣子鸡 ($20.80) - chicken was quite tough, and as usual with 辣子鸡 there’s more chilli than chicken bits. ? 冒辣火辣 ($28.80) - literally soup version of japalang mala, and is indeed very very spicy.

[Meatless/Vegan Options, contain Alliums] Earlier Chinese cuisine dinner situation @chengdusg with non-veg friends. They offer a handful of V options. See last two photos for menu. Foodie are not bad! A bit spicy for non spicy taker. Non-veg friends find these meatless dishes goodie too. I like what we have ordered- mala vegs, mapo tofu, potato slices, veg fried rice & passionfruit lemon yuzu! These dishes seem to be dairy free too. Spicy, savoury and yummm ? Do make reservation before heading down as it was crowded even on weekday night. I have made the reservation via @chopesg ?

Came here to get the Sichuan Boiled Fish (水煮鱼), Spicy Diced Chicken (辣子鸡), and Pumpkin Pancake. The fish was very tender and smooth, however note we got an upgrade for fresh sea bass for +$7 as the default option is frozen fish. The taste is however definitely watered down to suit the Singaporean palate and we wished it could more spicy and numbing. Chicken was good as it was crispy yet not dry. Pumpkin pancake was a hidden gem as it was perfectly crispy and chewy, and reminded us of 煎䭔. Overall a decent place to go but don’t expect fiery flavours as it has been adapted to the local palate.

Visited this on a weekday evening and the place was quite packed with locals. Probably best to make a reservation before coming as we saw that a few guests were turned away as they did not make any reservation. Dishes were decent albeit oily ? ? Total damage was $86 for 2, not the cheapest for the quality

Forayed into the world of Sichuan cuisine and I enjoyed it tons more than I’d expected! Overall, every dish we ordered was tasty and flavorful although a couple similar in taste. My faves were definitely the Pork Belly with Garlic, the Fried Egg Plant, Dumplings (not featured) and Green Pepper Fish Soup. There wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy thou I’ve had better 辣子鸡 elsewhere. Service was great and there is a lot more on menu I wanna try so I can’t wait to head back!

This place is located along Amoy Street and hence it will be very difficult to find parking space almost throughout the whole day. So taking a public transport may make more sense. The place is nicely decorated, clean and efficient. The dishes that we ordered were served orderly and fast. Staff are helpful and polite as well. The food I must say is very good. Typically some of the dishes that we ordered are suppose to be oily and salty. Here they 'customized' it to suit our taste but still retain the feel and texture of the original. Thumbs up. Highly recommended!!!
