Very bad service. Complete disaster. Never imagine that thei is happening in Japanese Restaurant. The waiter is a complete disaster. The food took so long to arrive and when asked the waiter answer it in a very impolite way. Never never want to come back even it is free of charge.

Im sorry to say that the food is overpriced, its not worth it. We ordered the signature dishes which were the eel and the tempura as they recommended, sadly to say they were not nice, the Unadon was not tasty enough as it costs $98. The saba fish was tasteless, ok better say like it is kinda healthy taste. The chef in front of us is doing his job there, but it would be great if he chit-chat to the customers somehow or even smile! And it was only 2 of us there! The service wise, I have to say that it was slow and not much attention was given, they should come out and have more situational awareness like to refill the drink without asking (I mean for this kind of the restaurant) I may not go back again as it is really not worth the price we paid for. Sorry ?

Overall: 5 stars (excellent omekase) Noise: 5 stars (doesn't get any better, sound-wise.) This venue clearly considered the effect of noise on guest experience, and they did a wonderful job of mitigation. Even at the sushi bar, there was a peaceful vibe with no kitchen noise. The rest of the venue was carved up into private rooms. No echo. Sound dampening walls. Quiet music. Just right.

Very disappointed. Should have just read the reviews on Facebook first before trusting the biased recommendation of a YouTube personality. I paid $68.50 for 2 dried skinny pieces of eel that had been too charred and barely had any flavour. I had to further pay more than $10 for the delivery that I HAD TO ARRANGE MYSELF. The regular unagi from NTUC is much better than this pathetic meal. Easily the worst unagi I’ve ever eaten. (And I LOVE unagi, which only further insults my taste buds). Ruined my long weekend which I wanted to enjoy with good food. I also had to endure a horrible LINE chat experience, where I had to keep prompting the service staff on my next step during the order process. I wrote a formal complaint email and received a highly unsatisfactory response. Zero service recovery. Highly ironic as it’s opened by a Japanese and I reasonably would expect some Japanese service values. None whatsoever. Seriously felt cheated and left almost $100 poorer because of this very unpleasant experience. Stay away from this sham of a restaurant. And don’t trust YouTube personalities too easily, especially if they are already previously acquainted with the said recommendation.

The closest you can get to an authentic Japanese dining experience! Appetisers were warm and comforting. The Sashimi set was one of the best I’ve had - it was fresh and full of flavour. My favourite was the Ika (Squid), which was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Chewy, fresh, and flavourful. The Unagi was tender and soft, and the sauce was flavourful - but doesn’t overpower the freshness of the Unagi (which most places do) Desserts were delightful and ended the course perfectly. Restaurant’s ambience was chill and relaxing - really brings you back to Japan! And the service was great - friendly, warm, but not too overbearing.

Arguably the most authentic unagi restaurant validated by my Japanese friend. Their unagi is air-flown live from Japan for maximum freshness. We had the Unagi Course Ghin ($148++) for 6 courses - all carefully served with seasonal dishes including broiled plain eel which was eaten with just a dash of salt or shoyu and wasabi and generous cuts of non-typical sashimi variety (was soo happy not to see salmon). The highlight was definitely the unagi, we opted for the Hitsumabushi style so we can enjoy the dish 2 ways.. with just rice & another with umami soup. Pair it with some fresh Sansho (Japanese peppers) adds an explosion of flavours! If you are coming for the unagi, highly recommend you go for the ala carte portion and order a bigger piece so you can really enjoy the hero! The 6-course set was just too much food and by the time the HERO was served we were too full…. Would have very much prefer to have more of the unagi as it was too delicious. For 2 people, including additional chawan mushi & Japanese omelette, the damage came up to $390 - which was quite steep. Hence you are better off ordering the ala carte unagi that ranges from $69-103++ depending on the size. Coming back for seconds!!!

Having a Hitsumabushi lunch set at this restaurant specialized in Unagi and Seasonal Omakase. The restaurant was founded in Japan since 1851. A bit pricy although we went for lunch but the quality was great.
