Ordered the white seafood bee hoon. Awesome. Reasonably priced. Comfortable. Clean

Found a hidden gem on level 2 of City Gate. In this sleepy part of Beach Road, right next to the sky bridge linking to MRT Station is a haven for good food. The sambal in the hot plate sotong is so good you can eat a whole plate of rice with it. Song fish head in spicy bean suave is well worth the calories. Fish head is fresh to the core. Instead of the flavourful white bee hoon, we ordered something with a twist - red bee hoon. A true blue local will always prefer spicy over original. The red bee hoon is simply a spicy version of the white one. Ask for more chilli, you will thank me! This is the same boss who moved from Cheong Chin Nam Road. Another casualty of covid-19. Friendly boss and good service from staff. I really hope they will do well here. I want to come back for more! A special dish and is my favourite since their CCN days is the Mao Shan Wang pastry. Flaky pastry skin stuffed with durian fillings and fried to perfection. Don't forget the buah long long drink. This should complete your experience like you have travelled to JB for your favourite zi char fix.

The food is good but the service sucks. I've ordered takeaway (only 2 items mind you, not 20) and it has been more than 40 min but my order is nowhere to be seen. Im still waiting outside now. And others who ordered after me have already gotten their food. When I asked, they just said to wait a while more and they make you stand outside the restaurant while waiting for your food too. I had enough of waiting, no more eating from this restaurant going forward.

The staff and chef of this old-school establishment exude an unassuming, "We know zi char and promise you an hearty and tasty meal," confidence that 100% does not disappoint. We were welcomed to an empty table with efficiency and given a menu filled with traditional zi char favourites. Given the Cantonese names of some of the dishes like Sui Gao, I have a feeling that the chef and his team may have come from across the border (Indeed, other reviews mention Johor Bahru). Apart from the signature White Beehoon, we went with good ol' deep-fried Prawn Rolls, Smooth-egg Hor Fun and Fried Rice with Chicken and Salted Fish. Iced lime juice and hot Teh with milk completed this weekday lunch. None of the dishes missed the mark and all showed signs of a skilful zi char chef who knew his way around his wok. Even the Teh was well-brewed with that authentic coffeeshop tea taste. Prices were reasonable and the environment was clean and free of any cooking residue even though the entire space was air-conditioned. A pleasant and yummy place for lunch and probably dinner as well. Will be back to try more dishes, for sure.

Very delicious food, at reasonable prices. Hidden gem. Note that the Herbal chicken takes 30 minutes to cook... Abit slow, will order other dish besides the Herbal chicken.

Came because hawker centre is undergoing cleaning. 6.50 for fish fillet beehun, the soup is so nice, milky flavour with a hint of bone soup base. Recommended by a local friend, not bad. Would be better if can change the beehun to other type of noodle.

Curry fishhead is a good deal at promotional price of $20. It's the lemak type, not Assam. Taste can be a little overpowering but goes well with rice. The white beenhoon is well done with lots of wok hei, so is the fried French beans. No service charge. No GST. Think of zichar but in a comfortable, clean and quiet environment with ac.

Walk pass and try their curry fish head promo, probably the cheapest fish head $20. Tasty fish head with lots of vegetables. Would suggest options of noodles to finish up the remaining gravy. ? Notice the two waitresses are prompt, attentive and hard working.?Good job. Highly recommended ?if you happen to come by.
