Clan 7 - #01-11

Food was good although service was patchy at best. The chicken soup pao fan and fried egg plant are worth trying. Loads of people maybe cos of the 40% off dimsum promo.

My family generally avoids Sichuan cuisine but we gave this a try and I must say, we were impressed. Special mention to the pork ribs, fried eggplant, assam fish and desserts — matcha lava cake and black glutinous rice pudding.

I was introduced to clan 7 by a good friend. When I called them for reservation the first time, it was fully booked so I was quite impressed and thinking that it should be a must try. Finally I manage to book a table and went for my dinner…. First impression, huh it’s at a B1 building? When enter, it’s cold and very little foot fall At the restaurant, we were the first group for dinner at 630pm. The decor design was not too bad, cosy. The menu, good spread of dishes, pictures and write up was fine and appealing. So we ordered 4 dishes as both of us eat little. When the first dish was served, we were just “STUNT like vegetables”. The soup was tiny! The volume is half of a rice bowl! We both had scope of soup to share. We also had cod fish in Nonya style. It spoilt the texture of a COD fish as it doesn’t taste anything close that I suspect it’s not at all COD FISH. And worst, the lady finger uses the exact same sauce as the fish. Not distinct flavour. The Ma-po tofu is mild so I kind of like it. Also the roasted duck was recommended personally. We added a port cutlet as we were not full and satisfied. I must say it’s the most value for money but taste wise… so-so towards the sweet side. In general, I felt it is extremely over priced for some dishes as it’s too trying to be “atas”. Tried once but will not go back.

We had a delectable meal at Clan 7 restaurant on a Friday evening in November. The place was not big and hence when different groups of diners entered, it can be quite noisy as we were seated quite near the entrance. Food quality was fresh/good and the dishes were well done and flavourful. The appetising dishes of our meal were the Nyonya baked cod fish, smoked cha siew ribs and braised crab meat vermicelli. The presentation and taste were both great. Service was also good and particularly a young staff, Ms Xue Qi and her fellow colleague. Looking forward to return to try their dim sum.

Had a nice lunch together with a friend here last week. The food selection was nice and the service was polite and quick. Most of the food was tasty and we even got a discount on our total food bill. Will visit again!

Nice restaurant for family or friends gathering craving for Chinese cuisine. The dishes are delicious ? though prices are not cheap. Bought $100 for $70 voucher via Chope and thus worth it ??

Food is generally on the oily side if you are into that sort of thing. duck is tender and juicy and the truffle siew mai is interesting. Yuan Yang noodles is a surprise because it is not made with flour but fish paste. haha. Quite tickled by that. Prawn roll was gobbled up before I could take the pic - nice. Pic of triangle tofu skin fried with prawn paste was accidentally deleted - decent effort but dab with tissue before you eat it otherwise it is also nice. We came in 2pm because of the 40% promo poster. We were lucky they have a table for us but half of the menu was sold out. Can i then assume they r so delicious that all sold out? Dim sum were piping hot when served n prawns were fresh n crunchy. Many mains to choose from. Love the garlic n black pepper prawns. Service a bit slow though the staff were trying their best to serve the packed restaurant. Guess they are short handed. Worthwhile when they have promotions such as 40% off dim sum n 15% off mains.
