I've been using Cool Master for 10 years. In general they are great but every now and then a few individual technicians try to oversell the chemical wash, etc. Receipts are written on a full A4 page with lots of notes and quite meticulous, but the office doesn't always follow up with prices for spare parts, etc.

We engaged these guys to install a new aircon unit and compressor. The quote was for a Mitsubishi 18,000 BTU system with full installation. They turn up on time and then claim that they didn't include the cost of a bracket, which would add another $150 to the total, I guess betting on the idea that since I have taken time off work to meet them, I wouldn't resist. Then they proceeded to install the system, while I Googled the precise model number that they had brought along (model wasn't specified in quote, only brand and BTU). It turns out the system was on only 16370 BTU. They then claimed that that actually despite what I Googled, this was in fact a 18,000 BTU system. So I ring up Mitsubuishi technical support, given them the model number and ask for the technical specifications, and I am told this is a 16,370 BTU system. I then ring up Cool Master Aircon office. They claim 'no it is a 18,000 BTU system'. I say, 'fine, send me the product literature where this is stated'. Five minutes later I receive a technical specifications brochure stating 16,370 BTU but with no comment. Guys (Cool Master Aircon), this might work in the era before the internet when you are hired once every 10 years to install a new system, but now people can read Google reviews. Eventually, after threatening to send them away, they swapped for another system and absorbed the cost of their bracket (but even here I had to settle for a 17,100 BTU unit and even after they claimed with was a 17.7k BTU system but my 5 second Google showed it was a 17,100 BTU syttem). I still ended up paying more for that model than what is advertised elsewhere. So the moral of this story: (1) Make sure the quote for the air con includes a model number (not some vague "Mitsubishi 18,000 BTU). Compare the quote for that model with rival vendors and verify the specs. (2) Don't fall for the 'forgot the bracket in the quote' trick (which is needed for every single air con installation where the compressor is elevated off the ground). You are either dodgy or incompetent. I think dodgy is more likely. (3) Or maybe hire a vendor that doesn't have negative reviews like this one.

Using them for 2 years, this time I saw one of the technicians steal a new bottle of floor cleaner in our bathroom. I caught him red handed and then he opened the new bottle and poured it all over in his water drum and pretended to use it. They need to be monitored all the time. Be careful.

was ok with them until recently when my aircon leaks and not cooling. they sent down a team and concluded my aircon needed chemical wash. i explicitly asked them if chemical wash will solve all the problems, the answer was a resounding yes. so i paid $180 for the chemical wash. after that, the aircon is still not cooling. i called them and they sent another team down to check. to my unpleasant surprise, the guy said my blower was broken and needed replacement and it will cost me another $220. i stopped them immediately and told them to go. terminated their service contract immediately although i still have 9 mths left. unreliable and just looking for avenues to charge the customers.
