Coffee is good, there’s two queues for dining in & takeout. Didn’t have to wait long to get a seat.

Only realised today that my Fave Hong Kong cafe is in Singapore. Made it a point to visit every single time I am in Hong Kong since I discovered its existence. Perhaps it's been too long, thanks to Covid, I couldnt remember and properly compare the taste of the coffee here in comparison to Hong Kong. Still really aromatic though. Menu is not extensive, understandable due to lack of kitchen space, so only serving coffee and pastry here. Seats are a premium, had to queue a long time to get seated cos some people were hogging the seats even though it is clearly stated that seats are for 45 mins only. Easier to get a takeaway if you don't want to wait. Kudos to the staff who was sharp to spot and politely asking the customers to be more considerate, so that everyone has a chance to get a seat and to enjoy the coffee on the spot. Can't wait to experience a full experience when they have a store with full kitchen.

Had the hot White ($6.50) while my SO had the iced white ($7). The hot White was acceptable but the iced White was sour and a bit burnt. Quality of coffee has dropped since the last time I was here and no longer worth the high price. Staff was overly curt and seats were limited. Overall, a poor experience.

Coffee at the Cupping Room was not too bad. Coffee was fairly smooth with hints of acidity. Overall a pleasant cup nonetheless. Had the Oat Flat White with 3/4 milk for a less milky cup and for a stronger coffee taste. The Yuki Matcha Latte with Oat are for fans who enjoys a non sweet cup with a hint of the green tea bitterness.

Iced white, is slightly acidic on first taste. And it's an acceptable kind of acidity even for someone like me who doesnt really fancy sour coffee. It then comes with a delightful nutty aftertaste. Would say a very balanced taste overall, especially with the smooth creamy milk that adds a subtle layer of sweetness. Appreciate that they actually uses paper straws. Kouign-amann doesnt look much here but it's actually very good. Crispy and flaky on the outer layers, yet moist doughy and buttery inside. Love especially the generously glazed exterior that gives this really enticing glistening look, and the sweetness that's en pointe, elevating further the butteriness of the dough. Would say this is probably one of the better Kouign-amann I've ever had. The staff did mention it's from The Bakehaus, i think. Hope i didnt give credits to the wrong bakery. ? Came on a Sunday late morning. No queue, thankfully. But there's a constant flow of customers.

My first time here was so-so, only because I ordered an ice black which was nothing to shout about. Nextf few times, I got a white (which is not my usual choice of coffee) and changed the milk to oat milk. Wow, what a difference. The stars went up by a few notches in my head. From then on, I would usually order a white, even with regular milk, without any hesitation. Always come by after a visit to Kinokuniya on the 4th floor but will aim to come before 1230pm (like now) or around 3pm for lesser crowds. Surpassingly, today is relatively empty! 3 stars only because you have to come during non-peak hours to get a seat. Yes it is an outpost but it could get pretty packed on weekends and after lunch. Oh yes, and noisy too. On quiet days like now, it is a relaxing respite from a round of shopping and the heat outside.

My favourite coffee roasters from the time in Hong Kong. Was pleasantly surprised when I found out that Cupping Room had opened an outpost in Singapore. Located in the Ngee Ann City, the cafe has great coffee. But that's where the similarity ends from their original Hong Kong branch. The cafe is located in a windowless corridor of the mall. Seating is very limited. And the food options are minimal. The coffee is great, but i doubt i would go again to sit there. I really hope Cupping Room finds a better location in Singapore soon.

Needed my morning fix before an appointment so pop over to the nearest drip brew place I could find. Great selections and wasn’t disappointed with my choice. Could taste the notes for the Kaiguri selection. Happy to see it brewed using the Lily. Had a good chat with the barista and discovered it’s HK setup. Will come for another new again when nearby next.
