If there is a choice, I will not even give a star. The wait was long, the food was so bland and tasteless and ingredients so-so. Even put Teochew minced pork noodles but turna out no where near the standard. I would not recommend this store but advise you to head down to whampoa market for better choice.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is because it is not the perfect meepok, however it is a very good one that I keep going back to. I usually order the meepok because it is thinner than the usual meepok at other stalls, so it's less starchy and feels more appetising. The crispy chilli that they make themselves is excellent. The other thing I really like are the pork balls - while they're not handmade but they taste so good, much better than alot of the other factory made pork balls I have tried. So I usually add pork balls to the $4.50 portion - 3 balls for $1, total $5.50 - it's really good value for money! Sometimes, I order the $4.50 portion with only two ingredients - pork balls and minced pork - and that's amazing! The people selling the noodles are also very friendly, making my breakfast here a most pleasant experience. I agree with the reviewer (Jolene Tan) that the local coffee here is very good - love it!

One word. BAD. more words. VERY VERY BAD. waited close to half an hour for two bowls of what I would classify as the bottom 2 bak Chor mees in sg. U can take my word for it as I eat bcm pretty often and have tried many other stalls. Bland. Very bland. Dried out mee Kia. Small specks of meat. Ridiculously bad service from the ordering auntie. Please close down you stall to make way for other stalls that can produce edible food that are actually fit for consumption. In summary, people who haven't tried before. DONT. you have been warned. Seriously atrocious.

Good for a quick noodle fix (mee pok style) and it’s one of the better ones, but not great. What is really impressive are the fish balls, fish cake and fish dumplings. Must try! I’m not a fan of fish balls but these are nice springy fresh and delicate in flavor (not overly fishy).

Trying to avoid the crowds and the overpriced New Year set menus, we had our family lunch at the popular Da Lian noodle stall at Balestier. The noodles, be it mee kia or meepoh, we're extremely springy and q, and their sauces were good. We didn't feel thirsty after that. I also had their Oyster Soup, which came with abundant amounts of oysters! I tried their Laksa, which was pretty legit and not overtly filled with coconut milk. Sharing space within the coffeeshop, is another popular BKT stall. #wongchoowai #choowai2021 #dalian #sgfoodlover #sgfoodblogger #sgfoodiegram #noodles #meepok #meepokdry #oyster #meekia #bcm #yummylunches #yummy #bachormee #foodstagram #sgfoodinfluencers #sgfooddiary

Nov 2020. Ventured into this coffeeshop after some grocery shopping at ZhongShan Mall on a Sat afternoon. The staff here were hardworking to keep the eating place clean. We ordered the original Bak Chor Meepok at $4.50. Although we could find an empty table, we still had to wait for 15 min for the noodle to be served. i asked for more chilli paste because of its tamed spiciness. I just loved to chew on seedy, un-grated chilli mixed with the noodle. The bowl came with 2 x ι±Όι₯Ί, some minced pork, fish cake slices, mushrooms and 2 x fishballs. To be honest, these sides were ordinary. There would be more selling points if one of these sides could be hand-made as a signature.

Had the ba-chor-mee. First impression was portion a bit small for $4.5. Noodle was cooked well, not overdone. Sauce was a bit salty for me but flavour was good. Soup was good and I wish they gave a slightly bigger portion. Fishball was qq but does not stand out. Overall, it's well done, with no wow factor, a generous 4stars. Special mention to the hot/cold drink stall auntie who was very kind hearted.

The mee Kia was overcooked but it was not soggy. Pretty QQ. Ordered the $3.50 portion. 2 fish balls and one meat ball and fish cake as per pic. Not a bad companion dish with the Bak Kut Teh from the other side
