★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried the much raved about sushi bar - frankly the sushi was normal, you can get fresher ones at a much cheaper prices at other places (eg Isetan). Had the 7 piece premium sushi and it was meh (39.90!)
Highlight for me however was the wagyu don which was affordable and unique (13 bucks). Sides were also pretty decent (had the shishamo and karage). I also tried the chawamushi with uni which was fresh, but mine wasn’t as warm on serving.
Ambience was pretty cool (instagram worthy), though the location is super inaccessible if you’re not driving.
Overall I’d say a ~4/5, would takeaway the wagyu don next time if I pass by.

Beef Wine Short Rib - decent presentation, came with a small cut of tempura sweet potato which turned soggy due to the Beef sauce. Good slice on the beef however the meat/fat ratio disappointed and it tasted more like Lor Bak (braised pork). Slightly dry texture too.
Sushi Nigiri, 7 Premium fish + Uni - as advised by Marcus, to consume from Right to Left. However, both plates had different sequence. Not sure if due to the fact that black plate has no wasabi in the sushi.
Rice was quite under cook, hard bite. Wasabi fresh.
The white fish with black topping, had a really tough bite to the meat.
Chef was really young and probably inexperienced. made a couple mistakes with the orders. Experienced 1 set of sushi sent back due to mistakenly putting in Wasabi. Shortly after, the same mistake happened for next table.
For a new young business, its a good start with much more room for improvement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Travelling here will be a problem if you don’t have a car. Nonetheless, the food is super worth the trip down.
We ordered foie gras with unagi, and it was one of the most affordable and best dish imo. At only just about $30, you get mouthful of flavours from the foie gras as it melts in your mouth, the unagi was cooked to perfection too and the leftover sauce was so precious we added rice to it to finish it all up. They gyudon was amazing too, with truffle taste all over the rice, topped with sweet onions and all sorts of savoury sauce. Their salmon tastes sweet and fresh, fry ebi is hot and crispy to the end. The snow crab chawa mushy was filled with snow crab meat and taste actually a lot like shark fins.
Overall vibes of the place felt cozy with the curtains on the side and a brightly lit moonlight. No complains at all! Will definitely be back again .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dining experience was very good. Staffs were very friendly and attentive. Drink was promptly refilled when finishing. Ingredients used were very fresh. One of the dishes were slightly big and might cause a little mess when consuming but the overall taste was very good.
Good environment but the location might be a little tricky to navigate to for first timers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food and drinks are reasonably priced and value for money. The don was served with not just plain sushi rice but flavored according to the topping it was served with (eg gyudon was served with garlic fried rice). Chawanmushi of the day were unagi or scallop. There might be other flavors which we hope to see when we come back next time. Sashimi was served in omakase style where you can just determine how much you're willing to pay for. To top it off, we were given complimentary yuzu and melon ice cream to try. Green tea was refillable, and the staff came often to check on us. We will definitely come back to try the other dishes of the menu as the quality of service and food is good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here and we were blown away by the amazing food, impeccable service and cozy ambience — we left this little joint wanting for more ?
We had their scallop and unagi chawanmushi (we ordered 2 each because they were so delish), extremely soft and tender beef wine short ribs that was just nice in portion, 7 premium fish + uni sushi and a sashimi platter that were very fresh and instantly melt in your mouth.
The location is a little inaccessible but the food definitely makes up for it. We’ll surely come back again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food and ambience. Definitely worth the hype!! The beef short rib is nothing short of amazing. The chawamushi comes with scallop or unagi one. Good to try both. The premium sushi is definitely a must try. ? Good to make reservation via their WhatsApp number before heading down, if not might have to wait for very long outside the shop since the shop has quite limited seats. Overall was great. The staff is friendly and approachable and takes time to recommend food for you. Definitely check this place out if you are interested. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time at Daiyusan today and Im happy to say that i’ll definitely be back! Amazing food, Amazing service and beautiful presentation all around.
Unagi chawanmushi - It was one of the chawanmushi of the day and it was easily one of the best I chawanmushi i ever had the egg custard is delicate and light with a nice layer of sauce which perfectly balanced the dish!
7 premium sushi- first time trying aged fish and I must say the texture of the fish was mind blowing, everything was melting in my mouth and the sushi still retained its freshness!
Sashimi platter- I loved the idea of just naming a price and getting random pieces of sashimi, we had ordered $70 worth of sashimi, and again everything was super fresh and delicious. (One of the must gets!)
Beef short ribs- Wow! theres something about this place about making things melt in your mouth! I actually found the portion size to be just right as it is a very rich dish
Very thankful to the owner who helped us with the food recommendations and guiding us through each dish!
