It’s kinda disappointed as we were full of expectations to try this Teochew Restaurant. The first dish was cold crab, it’s fresh and sweet, good taste and special dish which I will say it’s the only highlight of night it’s the fresh crab. And then authentic Teochew 區水豆腐拼鹅, the goose meat is quite fat, Teochew 區水 is not supposed to be oily but light and tasty, Clam was fresh and good. The last Teochew fish porridge came to our table very late, very little rice in the soup made me score 3 stars, and this porridge is SGD90?! We didn’t order from menu but listened to the lady boss recommended. Hope the Teochew porridge and Lushui can be improved, I believe you can do better.

The raw seafood is extremely fresh and tasty.. it is simply heavenly, especially the raw crab. Beside the food, the boss is super good looking and friendly, and the service staff are really prompt and helpful.

Along the main Kampong Bahru road with convenient parking. Contact Daniel if you have questions. A wide array of seafood dishes cooked Teochew style and great attentive service for your dining experience. I enjoyed the well cooked prawn and fish dishes! Teochew dessert of Yam Or Ni is also available. CNY Lo Hei is also available, see photo. Enjoy !

A decent taste Teo chew restaurant. Menu is mostly seafood + Lu shui I finally tried this to satisfy my Teo Chew porridge craving (the authentic kind that everything comes in one big pot) but a bit disappointing as the soup/ porridge base is not as good as expected. But other dishes are very decent and authentic, the oyster pancake is super crispy and the braised items (區水) are served with vinegar. Yes! The shop is small and cozy. It can be a bit too noisy when it’s full. Price is ok, a bit pricy compare to local zichar place.

Craving some Cold Crab, headed to the shophouses along Kampong Bahru Road in front of Spottiswoode Park to try out Daniu Teochew Seafood Restaurant. The first dish served was the Teochew Cold Crab. Upon opening the top shell, one could see that it would be an enjoyable dish. The meat was firm and the crab was full of roe. Every bite was a joy and definitely worth visiting just for it. Sadly, the restaurant then made the same problem as all major restaurant always does. Given the longer time the Cold Crab dish needed for consumption, there was no respite and the next 3 dishes kept coming. This resulted in the next 3 dishes sitting on the table for a very long time and then turning cold as it was not possible to stop the Cold Crab for them. The second dish was the Stir Fried Cockles with Garlic. The cockles were juicy and fresh but had to be consumed with rice as the sauce was a little too salty by itself Clams in Sha Cha Sauce with Pickled Vegetables was the third dish and it too was cold by the time it was consumed due to the longer time needed to work on the Cold Crab. Sadly, the clams were not well cleaned out as they still had a little sand in them. Again, the dish required rice to balance the saltiness of the sauce. The final main of the night to be served was the Pan Fried Leatherjacket Fish. This dish had great Wok Hei and it was enhanced with a couple of slices of Pork Belly. Definitely a yummy dish that would have tasted better had it been warm and not served too early. Ended the evening with a dessert of Crystal Yam. The lightly battered yam strips coated in a light dusting of sugar was deep fried resulting in a yummy dessert snack that is of optimum sweetness and good for an end of meal dish Overall, the meal had its highs and lows. Loved the Cold Crab but did not like the fact that the dishes after the Cold Crab were served so quick. Would return again for the Cold Crab only if the craving strikes again. General Verdict: Wonderful Cold Crab and Pan-Fried Fish dishes that were let down by the too quick serving of the 2nd dish onwards resulting in every dish being consumed cold and uninviting hence the 3-star rating Opening Hours: Monday 6pm-11pm Tuesday-Sunday 11:30am-10pm Queue Situation: Generally packed during lunchtime and dinnertime, advised to call and make reservations Price: SG$30+ to SG$80+ per person Payment Mode: Cash and all Major Credit Cards (Physical and Paywave) Items Ordered: 1) Item: Teochew Cold Crab - Steamed Mud Crab with Yellow Roe that has been chilled in the fridge Description: The meat was firm and the crab was full of roe. Definitely the star of the meal and worth visiting just for it Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$60+ each 2) Item: Stir Fried Cockles with Garlic Description: The cockles were juicy and fresh but needs to be taken with rice as the sauce was a little too salty by itself Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$14+ 3) Item: Clams in Sha Cha Sauce with Pickled Vegetables Description: Succulent clams that still had a little sand in them. Required rice to balance the saltiness of the sauce. Verdict: Fail, Don't Waste Time Price: SG$18+ 4) Item: Pan Fried Leatherjacket Fish Description: Very well pan fried dish with pork belly having great Wok Hei and a slight crunch of the bones Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$18+ 5) Item: Crystal Yam - Lightly battered yam strips coated in a light dusting of sugar Description: Yummy dessert snack that is of optimum sweetness and good for an end of meal dish Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$14+

There are many more better Teochew restaurants out there. The marinated crab, etc not up to standard. Only the cockles are good. The Teochew braised do not taste as good as many other places. The beef ball soup is alright, which I forgot to take photo. The pigeon left no impressions.

This is the 2nd time to this restaurant, we had different dishes since the menu is flexible. Thumbs up for the cold crab and drunken crab which we had sake to go with it. The other highlight was the beef ball which was told by chef it was freshly made, I also packed some home and would say it is a must try. Overall, the experience was very good with a fair bill.
