Appointment 1: Met her as a polyp was detected in my uterus. When she did an ultrasound and discovered a cyst over one ovary, she immediately suggested keyhole surgery (which is pretty major surgery) without offering any alternatives. When pressed for alternatives, she only was able to suggest waiting and seeing her just after my next period. When I did some research afterwards on ovarian cysts, I discovered that cysts can naturally grow on ovaries, and disappear as part of the natural menstrual cycle. I was therefore very displeased with the fact that her very first suggestion was to do surgery, for something that could possibly disappear within a month. I was equally displeased that she did not explain this to me, and I had to discover this on my own. The second visit, she ordered some tests (cancer markers) to possibly indicate that the cyst was cancerous. Once again, I was left wondering why this was not suggested as an initial strategy. Thankfully the markers came back negative. The third visit, while I was waiting in the waiting room, I discovered that a patient (several patients ahead of me) had already been waiting for an hour. I asked the staff why they did not call her patients (myself included) to let them know that Dr Low was delayed, so they could make a choice whether to make the trip down and wait, or reschedule. I eventually walked out as I was very disappointed with the service. I understand that Doctors can get held up (for whatever reason). What I do expect though, is that when I pay a premium price for a service, I expect a standard of service in return. A courtesy phone call to patients should not take more than 5 minutes, and would help all parties involved. Dr Low perhaps needs to revisit suggesting surgery as a first strategy, and improve the service standards at her clinic. Otherwise, she might lose more clients.

Dr Brenda Low is an exceptional Doctor. She is extremely professional and at the same time very caring. During all of my years under her care she always ensured the absolute best outcomes where achieved through her proactive and definitive approach. She doesn't leave things to chance and makes decisions which in my case were of great benefit to ensuring I could get pregnant, have a successful pregnancy and then a safe delivery. She also operated on me to remove polyps, which was a straight forward procedure and ensured I was in good shape for trying to conceive a baby. Her care and treatment during my pregnancy (I believe) was the reason it was a success (I had previous failed attempts - not in her care) and I feel she made it possible given her approach. Her staff and front desk nurses / reception ladies are efficient and lovey. Thanks for the wonderful delivery (of my precious daughter) and what I felt was an easy recovery from my c-section. Forever grateful to her and her team. Many thanks Catherine Haddad
